Holes in my House

This was what my guest room looked like about three weeks ago…
Now?  Something is missing.  Well, quite a few things, actually.  The chair, the Gausthaus sign that was above the bed and the crib rail that my antique dresses were hanging from.  I sold them all (well, the crib didn’t sell, yet, but it’s on the way to my new booth.)
Instead of a mirror and sheet music wreath over my sofa…
There’s a big white wall with a few nails sticking out (and I need to sew my curtains and make a cover for that pillow form!)
And I am no longer greeted by the table I stripped, refinished, and painted…
…now there’s just a clock.
So, I’ve got some holes to fill!  Time to play some “musical furniture”, but that will have to wait a while.  I have a list of client projects that runs over a page and a half long!  You girls are keeping me busy!

It’s Kick-Off Sunday for the NFL.  Go Skins!  (Do any other Washington fans find it bazaar seeing McNabb in burgundy and gold?)

  1. I bet you have some great ideas up your creative sleeve to fill those holes!!! Have fun!!

Hopefully McNabb will settle into his new colors!!! However, I am a Bears fan!! 🙂

  2. I remember selling some of my favorite items at shows as well. I hated to see them go, but when I would hear back from someone how much they loved "their" new piece, it made it better! Just think of it as a way to redecorate… again! Great job and as always, wonderful inspiration!

  3. The fun of decorating is the find, so you have lots of finds to hunt for, how fun is that? I can always let you borrow my music dresser, if you get desperate 🙂

  4. That must be mixed feelings. It is fab of course that you sold so much, must be a huge encouragement for your new endeavor (congrats and good luck on that too!!!), but I guess you had gotten attached to some things too. But he now you can go out hunting again.

  5. Awww so sad but I know you'll find the happy when you find new things to fill those holes. You are truly a talented person. I will love reading your blog even more waiting on what you will find.

  6. Good for you that you sold so much. This is an opportunity to find a few more fabulous things to add to your home and eventually to sell. I can see why they sell, they are fabulous pieces. Hugs, Cindy

  7. You know the old saying, the cobbler's kids need shoes! Same goes for those of us who have booths, find and redo. We love it for awhile and then off it goes to be loved by someone else!

The good part is that we usually can fill it all up again in no time at all.

    hugs

  8. Ha ha this cracks me up! I think you are the only person I know of who would shop their own house so extensively to sell! You're so bold, I'm not sure I could do that. Good luck filling all those "holes" I'm sure you'll have fun in the process!

  9. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I thought for sure you wouldn't answer my question (just because your so busy, and have so many followers) but then I figured it's like yard selling, what do I have to lose:) So glad I asked, cause you really did get the creative ball rolling. You are so talented! I live in a really old house which makes its so much more fun to decorate. So thank you again for your help, you just made my day!!! I'm calling my friends who install turf tomorrow:)
I can't wait to see what you do with your empty spaces in your house. I'm sure it will be amazing!
P.S. My husband thinks I'm crazy because I just yelled out really loud "Miss Mustard Seed answered my question:)"

  10. I can't wait to see what you fill your holes with. I love your baby dress in the frame and also you metal fan too. My grandma had several of those until she past away. I have a small one in my bedroom!

  12. While I'm sure you're wondering what you'll fill those spaces with next, I'd imagine that those empty places must be a very satisfying sight! I look forward to seeing what you do with the 'holes'.

  13. See my house is starting to get trampled by furniture I have so many projects going on! I have to round pedestal tables sitting in my living room right now! One finished, one not so much!

I need 2 dressers though and can't find one that I love!

GO REDSKINS! How about that win last night? Wasn't it glorious?
