One of my favorite decorating books for over twenty years is New Country Style by Country Home. I remember pouring over one particular room again and again that showed how dramatically a room’s look can change by swapping out slipcovers. The room was completely transformed, and I always wanted to replicate that in my own home. I’ve shared before that I sew out of thriftiness and because it allows me to customize my home, but it’s not my favorite thing to do. Making one slipcover for each piece of furniture has always been enough, and I’ve never been able to coax myself into making a second set.
