Saturday Finds

You never know what to expect when you go out to yard sales. Last week was gray and wet and I came back with a great haul. This week, the sun was shining, the weather was gorgeous, there was a community yard sale…those are the makings of a great day of treasure hunting. I got $60 out of the ATM, ready to spend. It was after 10:00 and I was empty handed. Then I spotted this neat little table and some gutter parts sitting on a driveway. A sign said “Free.” I looked around in disbelief. The table is free? I grabbed it up half expecting that someone was going to yell at me for stealing!
I’m not sure what I’ll do with it, yet, but how could I pass up FREE?
Look at this beautiful inlay! And one cool thing is that this table folds down flat. I love portable furniture.

This horn was $.25…I thought it would be great for a Christmas wreath or arrangement. And it kept my 2 year old son entertained for a while as he tried to play it.
This antique frame was a last minute find. It was only $1.00 and it has the original “wavy” glass.

So, in all, I spent $1.25. I would’ve liked it if my trunk was filled to the brim, but I’ll take what I can get.

On a personal note, my last living grandparent died early this morning. He was a World War II veteran, a highly respected Home Builder, a great tennis player and fisherman, and a wonderful man. I was the closest to him out of all of my grandparents and my oldest son is named after him. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
