I left the beautiful wood frames alone (see, I don’t paint everything) and I upholstered the back and seat with antique European grain sacks. Gorgeous, huh?
Today, I also finished a dining set, a beautiful buffet, an oversized chalk board, a gold leaf mirror and a dresser. I painted the dresser with a new-to-me ASCP color, Greek Blue. It’s shocking when it goes on, but it is yummy now that it’s been distressed and waxed. I can’t wait to snap some pictures of those pieces tomorrow in my space and share them with you.
Thanks again for all of the amazing comments from my “Losing and finding myself” post. I’ve been going blind reading through all of them, but it’s been so worth it. Some of you shared very touching stories and I feel a connection with them all. You’re an amazing bunch of ladies. There was a guy in there, too. His comment was a riot in contrast to the rest. It was basically a shoulder shrug and a thumbs up. That’s what you get when you come wading in the deep end of an estrogen pool.

So refreshing to see the wood. The french chair I'm sitting on right now has a wood frame. I contemplated painting it, but decided to leave it alone. Can't wait to see your new pieces.

Love the chair. I have one that needs loads of TLC, but it may have to wait a bit longer as I got the okay for a bigger booth space today. Things are coming along.

Oh I have settee with this same little French detail. I wish I lived near you, I would hop on over to Lucketts and snap those up! I love that you didn't paint them. That takes some serious self-discipline on my part, but sometimes it is good to recognize something is beautiful just as it is.
If your thinking of selling all four I would love to know how much?

Love your chairs and it is nice to have contrast of some wood with some painted pieces! Sounds like you have been busy it is so easy to accomplish more with AS paint! I bought some and finished 17 furniture pieces several mirrors and quite a few smalls in 10 days…….it is addicting! My sister lives in Virginia and I think I will have to go to make a trip to Lucketts one day when I go to visit!

Whew! You made me tired just reading what you finished! ;^) Can't wait to see it all. I'm still working on the end table I picked at the Habitat ReStore back this past winter…I had to settle for making my own chalk paint, but it's turning out nicely so far. I'm like the poster earlier, I don't start stuff for fear of screwing it up and then have to try to figure how to fix it.

Sitting at home with 3 little kids though, I totally got it. And seeing the way my husband responds when I cry about what I'm not able to get done, yeah, I'm glad to have so many blogging friends who get it. 🙂 And I can't WAIT to see the Greek Blue…sounds fantastic! 🙂

I also didn't respond to your previous post about losing/finding yourself. As a mother of two and a full-time working Mom, I can certainly relate and appreciate your candor. I am in the process of trying to find myself again – I'm an older Mom (51 with a 6 and 11 yr. old). Have always enjoyed needlecrafts/knitting/scrapbooking but nowadays by the time I sit down at night I just vegetate in front of the TV!! I feel like I am wasting my time but my energy is gone by then. Your post has inspired me to pick up my needles if even I only accomplish a few rows of knitting – thanks for your inspiration and have a wonderful day! I'm only posting anonymously because I don't have a blog/website/etc.!

I agree about the wood! Don't know where you find the restraint to put down the paint brush sometime, but a mix of some gorgeous wood with painted pieces keeps it from looking too… "hi, i like to paint." I usually have to keep pieces around extra long unpainted to convince myself it looks great as it is! Right now I have some blond colored wood Thomasville dining room chairs that I keep going back & forth about. Great job as usual MMS!
