to the market…

I have so much more to share about the pieces that I’m bringing to sell at the Market at Chapel Hill, but the event is next Saturday, so I need to post some pictures before it’s too late!  I am so excited with how the space is coming together.  I found some very interesting and unique pieces and I love how they all play together.

One of my favorite pieces is a zinc-topped chippy white table.  It’s one of those pieces that has aged in a perfect, beautiful way.  I just couldn’t pass it up!

I need to take a picture of this piece with the doors closed, but the shelves and “cubbies” inside, as well as the planked back, just need to be shown off!  They were begging me.

This is a pine, three door cabinet on little casters.  It wore green paint at some point, but has been stripped and I loved the look of it, so I left it unpainted.

I need to get a better picture of it, but did you notice the industrial metal table in under the cubby in Tuesday’s post?

It’s actually some sort of medical table and one side tilts up and the other tilts down, almost making a seat.  The entire thing also folds up and it’s on cute little wheels.  It’s such an unusual and cool piece!  You do have to have just the right spot for it, though, so it was a bit of a gamble purchasing it to resell.

Although, I won’t be entirely heartbroken if it doesn’t sell.

Another piece I’m smitten with is this antique pine buffet…

The tops lifts up and front panel swings back to access the storage room inside.

It might appear that I’m not bringing any pieces I actually painted, but I am!  Of course I am.  I’m bringing the MMS Milk Paint dresser in Mustard Seed Yellow that I used for my “milk paint commercial.”

…the hand painted Mora dresser.

…the pram-turned-side-table piece painted in Ironstone.

…and I’m finally selling the channel-back chair from my office.  The frame is painted in MMSMP Grain Sack and it’s upholstered in antique hemp sheets.

I’ll share more of my market inventory over the next few days.

Tomorrow, I’m heading back to Megan’s house to take final pictures of her office reveal..

  1. Such beautiful pieces – as always! I’m no good at styling but if y’all (all vendors) need some help unloading after 5 on Friday – I will gladly lend a hand! I may not can buy the bigger pieces, but I can ogle them…

  2. Wow–that’s a lot of really unique pieces! They are awesome.
I think it would be nice to add some hand painted artwork to the inside doors of the pieces you have chosen not to paint–this way someone still gets your signature loo. I know I would love that!

  3. Your inventory to sell at the Market looks incredible ….how I wish I lived in the area. The hand painted dressers are simply beautiful, and I am completely smitten with all of the cubbies and the planked back of the pine 3 door cabinet…oh the storage and display possibilities that piece offers!
I am looking forward to seeing the final reveal of Megan’s office!
Have a wonderful weekend with your family..

  4. Oh, everything looks wonderful….the only problem is that I live waaaaay too far away to come to the Market..drat and double drat! Have a great time and I hope that you sell everything…I wonder if you ever named that cute papier mache horse? I submitted the name Macaroni, so in my mind that is his name…LOL
    Have fun at the Market!

  5. You have a great selection for the market. I envy the lucky people or person who buys the zinc top table and the pram turned side table.

  6. I would pay the shipping on your chair if you would sell it. How much are you asking? I love it and the fact that it has a hemp sheet also would be worth it to me. Mary

  7. I literally gasped when I read you were selling that channel-back chair! Seriously, I was thinking of that chair today, wondering if you had sold it long ago. I love, love, love that chair. You have so many great pieces ready for the Market, and I can’t wait to hear how successful you’ll be. Sell it all, and have fun with your reader and customer base, Marian!

  8. I agree with the other ladies Marian ~ I’d also love for you to sell your items online, so the majority of us that can’t make it to Markets and Fairs you’re at can own some of your treasures too!

Please reconsider selling your items either at a fixed price in your Shop, or back in Etsy, or auctioning your items from your Shop, or on eBay.

Even if you limited sales to the US, between your blog followers alone ~ you’d sell every item every time, and you would never need to travel/be away from your family if you didn’t want to be. Plus ~ less travel means more time to paint and create! 🙂

Just me alone ~ I’d buy your darling pale blue wooden child’s chair, the wooden child’s pew, the un-named rocking horse, the pram turned table, several pieces of ironstone, a clock, the green toy truck, a few wooden mashers, a brush, a broom…

  9. So bummed I won’t be able to make it to the market this time, but super happy I got to meet you last year and share a piece of Alsace with you to remind you of your Stuttgart days. 🙂 I wish you much success this year!!!

  10. Wow all those pieces are awesome!!Those are some lucky people that get to go, and get wonderful pieces to take home. Except maybe that lovely white & blue horse (hehe)
