I took a step away from the painting and sanding and upholstering to do a bit of shopping for Lucketts. Once I got the boys off to school, I got my P90X workout out of the way, showered, ate breakfast and packed a healthy lunch to take with me. (Balance, remember?) I went to one of my favorite local shops…
(The beverage cart was on hold for someone else, but I bought this stool…)
…and then I went to an antique mall I had never been to before. AWESOME!! This place was huge and it took me about three hours to get through. Towards the third hour, I was getting “antique mall eyes” where it was hard for me to see anything in the booths. I had made a huge mess of a pile at the register and filled my van with all sorts of goodies. Thanks so much to Katy, one of the vendors there, who gave me an excellent deal on some ironstone.
My mom and I spent all afternoon and evening pricing and packing everything. Here’s a preview of some of the pieces…
I think I’m pretty well set with stuff now (although I may sneak out to some yard sales or an auction, though…) The pile in my basement is pretty big and I have a feeling it will be overwhelming when I try to find a space for everything in my booth…but it’s like that every year and it always works out.
It’s back to the basement tomorrow.
I’ll be posting FFF as usual tomorrow, but there’s also another party going on…

Check out the details on RSVPing and joining in on the twitter party at Funky Junk Interiors. Donna did a brilliant job of explaining how things work, so I thought I wouldn’t try to reinvent the wheel so to speak. I hope to chat with you tomorrow night. Just use #htlucketts to join in. You can find me HERE on Twitter (@missmustardseed).

Great stuff! I have a shopping cart just like that one that I love. I fill it with cedar or magnolia branches during the holidays and put it in the entryway. I’m thinking of taking Junque Rethunque the same route you are going – not in a constant location, but just setting up at occasional sales/markets… hope you have a great time! 🙂
Well, now that I’ve stopped hyperventilating after gasping at each pic(k)ture of your haul, I can tell you that looks like some fun stuff! Hope it does well for you.
Great finds!
I haven’t seen anything stating who won the gift certificates to Decor steals, did I miss it? Your stash looks awesome!
Antique mall eyes. I have it sometimes, but never found a word for it.
I need that cart for Brimfield…and I took a deep breath when I saw that cute little trunk behind it. Looking forward to shopping your treasure next saturday!!!
Hi Marian,
I just stopped by to say, Hi! I have so much to share with you all at tonight’s
link up party on Twitter 🙂
See you then,
Elizabeth
Hi Marian:
what a fun stash. It sounds like the market is going to be so much fun.
Hope to be there some day, in the meantime, I enjoy the pictures.
Martha
Some great stuff! I can’t wait to get there and see what else you have. 🙂
I’ve been looking for a little iron chandelier just like that!! Me WANT!!!!
OK lady…you must tell what your favorite shops are so when I get back to the York/Gettysburg area, I can go there!!

Hi Marian!
Looks like it’s getting to be “crunch time” for you …I know it’s stressfull, but you’re having a
blast doing it all. We here in California would love to fly out to Luckett’s and grab up all your good stuff! Good luck on the big day. Keep thinking of all the people around the country
and probably the world who are with you in spirit!
We love you!

Oh how I wish I could be there! you have the best stuff. Good Luck Marian, try not to stress to much.
Lots of wonderful goodies I see. 🙂
Oh, that wire cart!!! It reminds me of one I drug all over England.
The Eastlake cabinet behind the wire basket is a-mazing! Is it going to Luckett’s? I’m in Texas, but I do so wish I could come to the Luckett’s event!!!
What is that beautiful piece behind the antique shopping cart? A dresser? A table? Whatever it is, I want it! 🙂
Ah, yes! That is an unusual piece that someone made out of a few different pieces. It’s a small chest on top and a drawer below and it’s on wheels with that carved front. I am planning to paint it to “marry” the piece a bit better.
Oh, I so want the chippy chandelier!
You gotta keep that shopping cart … that’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!
You do ALL of this stuff and P90X. You are an animal! That’s awesome.
Love the chandelier.. When is the Lucketts sale? I’m moving with my family to West Point this summer so I’ll be nearer there.
Thanks
Rene’
You had a real good shopping day, I seen a couple things I would like to have put in my trunk
I miss doing that , I have so much STUFF i’m down sizing and doing 3 yard sales this year, if it would stop raining
Fabulous finds!
Love, love, love it all, especially the chippy chandelier. I have an old iron rolling basket that I love and made a burlap insert for it. Always get lots of compliments on it. So cute and when I am not using it for shopping trips, I use it to store blankets in. Oh I wish I could come to the Lucketts sale – it is on my bucket list….. sigh!
Great finds! How do you fit all of your market items in your basrment? And without damaging them on the way up? A walk out basement would come in handy!
You may have covered this in previous years, but I am curious how you decide what to buy price-wise when you are going to turn right around and sell it again. I get how you can buy cheap, fix it up/paint it/upholster it and sell at a profit and with your big lots of things you won at auction or great deals at yard sales. But when you are buying retail like at the antique mall, not doing any improvements and immediately reselling it, what do you base your purchase decisions and reselling price on in order for you to also make a profit?
Bought a wooden stool like that at a thrift store last week, painted it white with a little distressing…looks super cute!
Hi Marian! Looks like you found some great items! Hoping to see you, Karen and Donna at Lucketts! Hugs, Leena
I love the things you have shown! You are an amazing shopper.
Have you been to the antique mall in Westminster, MD? It is the largest antique mall in MD. A friend and I opened a booth there (booth 84), and in the booth across from us is a lot of ironstone and I think of you when I see it. I’ve gotten several things there for myself, but I’m trying not to buy more than I sell.
Someday I’ll make it to Lucketts again, I used to go occasionally when I lived in VA. It’s a wonderful place to shop!
I love all of your finds. Can u do a post on what u look for when you are searching for items and also discuss how u determine what a “good price” is. Whether it be looking on Craig’s list or an antique mall. We all seem to be trying to decorate our homes on a budget and I love a great deal but I am never quite sure of what that is. Any tips would be helpful. Example what is a Good price on a tall boy dresser? Thanks… Wish I could come to Luckets? Just might have to take a road trip next year.
great finds! I Will be going to Lucketts tomorrow! I know you are in my neck of the woods, which mall did you go to? I know of 2 that have 3 floors, Greybeards and factoryworks? in hummesltown. I have awire basket in my garage!!
