Favorite Finds of 2009

To end 2009 properly, I thought I would share some of my favorites with you, so this is the first in a 4 part series.  This series will include my favorite finds, small projects, and furniture makeovers.  I’ll also throw in some of the big “firsts” for my business this year.

I’m starting off with my favorite finds of 2009.  And they are…

The wooden piece from a sewing factory – free, ironstone pitcher – $2.50, antique basket – $1.00
Antique yellow ware bowl – $7.00 at a thrift store
Ironstone wash set – $5.00, Craig’s List dresser $30.00
Pair of French Provincial chairs – $20.00 at auction
Pair of antique apothocary jars – $15.00
Cermamic birds – $2.97/each at Goodwill
Caned chair – $10.00 at an antique store
Vintage wagon – $5.00 at a thrift store
Ironstone plates – $2.00 for the lot (I think…)
German glass glitter – expensive, but a great find and because I own a business, I can buy it at a wholesale price
antique scale – $20.00 at a yard sale
Ironstone bowl – $2.50 at a yard sale
Coffee table – $18.00 at Salvation Army
Wreath – $2.00 at a yard sale, antique wash stand – free on the side of the road.
I hope 2010 brings me even more great finds and happy hunting to you in the New Year!

  1. You have a great eye not only for style, but a bargain. Love all your great finds. The ironstone and furniture, and I'm crazy about your little wagon.
Blessings for a Happy New Year!

  3. I'm sorry I got your post all soggy from drooling! I especially like the ironstone, french provincial chairs and antique apothecary jars. Would love to go treasure hunting with you!

  4. What a great idea for a post! I love all your finds… and the prices you paid…. I am jealous! Hope my husband doesn't ever see this post because I bought similar things but did not get quite the same pricing. I have the same dresser… I mean, it is identical I think! I painted it…. maybe we have already talked about this…

    Happy New Year!

Here's to finding more inexpensive treasures!

  6. What lovely things! I've been thinking about doing a similar post…you are definitely more organized than I am, but… that's a given! : ) Enjoy the rest of 2009! I'm excited to see what your creativity has in store for the New Year!

  7. I love all your ironstone! I found a box full of ironstone dished sitting by a dumpster in the alley behind my house about 7 years ago. At the time I just thought they were boring white plates compared to my colorful array of Fiestaware dishes. I'm so glad I hung onto them. I adore their simplicity!

  8. If you added all of the items up and what you would have paid at an antique shop I bet the savings would be mind boggling! Especially with all of the road side specials you found. Happy Hunting in 2010!

  9. I can see why those are your favorite finds! Every single item is fabulous! I love seeing the treasures people can find out and about for such little money! Thanks for sharing!

This week started with the loss of power from a storm.  It wasn’t really the storm that knocked out the power, but the wall of wind that came right before the rain.  It took out trees, limbs, power poles, and made a general mess of our yard and pool.  Jeff
