Even More Attic Finds

Can you believe that I still have more to share with you? (For those of you who don’t know, I just cleaned out my grandparent’s attic and hit the jackpot. I’ve been sharing all of the things I found and was able to keep.) I think I’ll be posting this stuff for weeks. Here are a few more finds from the great attic clean-out…

My great grandmother’s monogrammed china. This set is so delicate (5 of the cups didn’t survive the trip home), but it is gorgeous! I love the teal border and gold rim. It is so special that I was able to take this home with me.

Some more vintage ornaments. Aren’t these funny? An ant, a clown, and a cognac bottle. Sounds like a party to me.

A Happy Home book that is a guide to the early 1900’s house wife. There is some really interesting stuff in here from must-have household items to how to hire good housekeepers.

Of course, I loved the Home Furnishing chapter…

We also found my great grandmother’s hair brush, along with other vanity items that I’ll share later. This must be almost or over 100 years old.
I still have a lot more to share. I also have some thrift store finds and I’ve been busy painting in my own house. I just couldn’t end this post without showing the new home for my quarter-sized sheet music wreath.
It’s over my piano and nativity scene in my living room. I love how the angel fits inside it.

Thanks for letting me show off. I hope to see you all this Friday to share your furniture posts with me!

  1. All of these are lovely finds!!! I had to comment though – I have the exact same nativity set, only my figures are all in full color. Most of them have chips or are broken. I love how yours are all white w/ antique like detail. My Great Aunt fired and painted all hers herself and my mom has always cherished them. They were given to me when my mother passed away last year. I don't think I could bring myself to paint over them to get this look but it's a wonderful warming feeling to see them in a different light!

    Merry Christmas! ox

  2. the ornaments are unlike i have ever seen in person – the ant is awesome as is the bottle – and the clown grabs my heart –

the dishes are super – that flatware is not so bad itself – wow wow wow ..

  3. Wow! I've really been enjoying all your attic finds. I think this set is my favorite! Monogrammed china. I mean, seriously. How cool is that?!?!

  4. MAN…you have REALLY discovered the Mother Lode! Such wonderful treasures…this is the kind of attic finds that we ALL want to stumble upon.
Your sheet music wreath with the angel is out of this world. Just love it…

  5. Truly amazing finds, but what caught me was the amazing detail on the brush handle. WOW!

Your sheet music sheet looks like it's always been with THAT nativity scene and in front of THAT mirror. Meaning, don't move it even an inch! It's perfect. 🙂

  6. The best part about these is knowing who they came from…THAT is priceless…I always wish my family had an attic i could dig through…and I must say I LOVE your music wreath!

  7. Every time you post I am just amazed at what was stored in that attic! Keep it coming!!
The wreath looks beautiful above the nativity scene…perfect with the angel.

  8. The color of the china is so, so lovely! And I love your wreath – I have been contemplating making one – I have to gather up some old sheet music – and buy a glue gun – do you believe I don't have one????

  9. What wonderful items! I love that they keep coming and coming! My favorite today has to be the china. I always look for china that color at alll the thrift sore I enter! Simply beautiful! Dee Dee

  10. You hit the proverbial jackpot! I have had one dream over and over again. I inherit the right to take whatever I want from a dusty old attic that is huge. Can't count how many times I've had that strange dream. A dusty attic with slivers of light filtering in. Old antique pieces that I can choose from. What a dream! Love the wreath as well!

  11. WOW – love the dishes!! (and love that silver! That looks like a magazine photo!)

Hey, print me off the front page of that article on Home Furnishings. I could use the reminder that my place IS in the home. (I no longer work, but was reared as a feminist! I am trying to be a better wife and mother and housekeeper, but it JUST doesn't come naturally!!! HELP!) I could read part of the sentence that said "the true housewife desires that her……..be it ever so humble, shall at least be clean". yikes!

  12. I am just so loving all of your posts about your attic finds.
Your Grandmother had equisite taste and the china is so lovely.
Keep showing us more. I love it.

  13. Wow you really have found and gotten some treasures from your grandparents. Great that you got them. And your wreath from music is amazing, I think I want to try making one. Neat!

  14. You are so lucky to have so many great things from your grandmother. I have a chair and small table but that is it. I would have loved to have gone through her things but I was too young when she died. All of the things that you have are beautiful.
