When I saw this pkauffman artissimo navy fabric on Joanns’ website, I was totally in love. I bought it without getting a sample or anything. I just knew it was “me” and would work. The fabric is regularly $59.99, but I caught it on sale for $23.99. (I also got free shipping.)
I know that even the sale price of $23.99/yard might be too high for some budgets, so I thought I would pick out some fabrics I like for this treatment that are under $10.00. Here’s what I picked…
You could really use any fabric you wanted, but these are the three that caught my eye. I needed 8 yards for a 12′ wide wall and 8′ ceilings, by the way. A full tutorial will be available on HGTV.com in a couple of months.

I like the Jordan Indigo best, but I agree with Ceci. I love the fabric you used the best and I would not have thought to put it on the wall. It is georgeous!
Are these home decor fabrics? I need to make curtains for my sewing room and don’t know if I should use quilting (cotton) fabric or home decor fabric.

Kathryn – Check out the new sage green window panel they just got in at West Elm. It’s more modern than these styles but really nice!
I just realized that sage green panel I saw in the West Elm store today is so new it’s not even on their website yet. Wait a few days and check or email them and ask for a swatch. Good Luck!

I love the idea of looking for a bargain version of your fabric. It reminds me of a feature they used to do in “Apartment Life” magazine called “Tongue in Chic” where they recreated an over-the-top expensive room for pennies on the dollar. I had been on fabric site and picked out some of these.. though a few I liked in the 13 dollar range. NO fabric for me until I get some other projects done. Or make some decisions…
I have to say I am happy to know you paid half price.. I clicked on your link for your beautiful fabric, and had a good idea of how much you need to “wallpaper”! I did that years ago… and think I know how you did it! My computer chair dropped a foot lower when I saw the 59 dollar a yard price.. and then I thought no way would MMS pay that much.. she must of got a deal or a comp! I took a hiatus from the fabric world, and I have to admit that I have been shocked when I see in the last few years how much decor fabric has gone up! Absolutely stunning! I could never pay that much either. The other fabrics are gorgeous although I don’t use blue. This is food for thought for other colors though. Can’t wait to see the tutorial! Trying to get back to blogging and so happy I saw this.

MMS – you are amazing! I can’t wait to hear how this is done. Now that is adventurous. Not to be a naysayer, but what if it you had to take it down? Is it impossible to remove? Regardless – it is absolutely GORGEOUS!
I love the fabric you chose. it looks a lot like your drapery fabric. It’s a great alternative to wall paper (if you’ve ever had to remove wallpaper, you know!) Beautiful with the ironstone above the bed.

Before I was married I purchased some navy blue and white dishes that I still “adore” to this day! For years those colors were just not “in”. Thank you for bringing them back to the world and some of us can be at peace again!
Laurie…I think blue and white are classics! Decorate with whatever makes you happy. Whatever is “In” is just someone else’s opinion anyway! 🙂

i used modpodge on some walls and spray glue on other walls…also, i live overseas and do not get HGTV here so how can i see your way of doing it? r u gona post it on youtube:)?

The bed is from Restoration Hardware, it’s called the Vienne bed and can be bought without the foot board. I got it on clearance + 25% off.

I absolutely love this. When I was younger a then friend showed me something and I did it. I bought a black and white checked sheet, put some starch and water in a bucket, put the wet sheet in the bucket to soak on the starch/ water mixture and put my cut and sized pieces up on my kitchen walls! It worked wonderful. So… I can’t wait to see how you did yours!
