My mom and I went out shopping on Monday and, while most of the stuff I bought is to sell, I can’t help picking through the ironstone to give myself first dibs! I’m also starting to hang onto pieces for the Luckett’s Spring Market in May. I don’t want to sell it all in the online shop and then scramble to find awesome stuff for the shoppers who come to Lucketts. So, I’ll sell some and I’ll squirrel some away for May. I didn’t find any spectacular pieces, but I found some really pretty old pieces. Chunky, super heavy pieces with amazing patina…
Stacks of ironstone makes me happy.
I also bought a pretty antique petticoat…
I sort of hemmed and hawed over it, but then I saw the signature on the waistband…
…and it was only $15. And my gut tells me this will make a killer sink skirt for my half bath.

Love, Love, Love your ironstone. I was reading your earlier post on it too. I live in MA and it is much harder to find here, so I envy that you can find it so easily. I enjoy your blog, but want you to know I am coming over to relieve you of some of the sweet brushes you have.

I love Carrie and her Copper and Tin store ! I bought four really cool mushroom prints from her a while back that are hanging in my kitchen as I type 🙂 The mother of pearl on those binoculars is swoon worthy.

Your opera glasses remind me of some my grandmother had when I was little. We would use them when she took me to see plays. I wonder what ever happened to them. Thanks for the memory.

As much as I like the ironstone I love Mother of Pearl opera glasses more.
I have a french pair and they came with the little leather case with a brass closure with a honey bee on it. If I remember correctly Napoleon’s symbol was the honey bee. I think I am due for another pair.

You’ve got your petticoat and Opera glass, all you need to find is a gown and you’re off to the Opera, or ballet or whichever! Love those binoculars! What a gem of a find. The petticoat for the bathroom sink is such a romantic touch, but being the theater costume person that I am, I don’t know if I could bare to cut into it! But then, that’s what you do in costume design anyway, rip it apart and make something else fabulous! I look forward to seeing it. 😉

slathered on linens will remove many of the stains without damage and still leaving
It mellow. Really enjoy MMS!

On the lookout for ironstone in RI, I’m on the hunt. Hoping to hang platters and plates
on a wall. Noticed shipping charges on some websites are more than the pieces. Hmm.
My dad inherited a pair of opera glasses similar to yours and I have them now. And I too, simply adore them!! How fun for you!!! I love to use them in vignettes all the time and I’ll be looking forward to seeing them pop up in yours.
