Good evening everyone! Thanks so much for all of the links last week. It’s so much fun for me to look through them and see people showing off all styles of furniture, techniques, paint, fabrics, makeovers and awesome finds. Each week is truly a furniture feast for the eyes, so thank you for that! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. Here are three of my favorites from last week…
I love all of the details and custom touches on this drop-cloth-slipcovered ottoman by Patti of Old Things New. The double ruffled skirt with the frayed edges make this piece super special.

I’m game for painting anything, but I’ve never tried to paint upholstery. This piece by Terry of Forever Decorating, and the tutorial for it, looks fabulous and makes me want to give it a try!
I think this finish by Cassie of Primitive and Proper is perfection. She used a very light wash of paint and rubbed it into the grain of the wood. Some clear wax and glass knobs finish it off. Gorgeous work!
Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!

Marian ~ you have no idea how tickled pink I am right now at the feature of my sister’s dresser. She told me she was going to paint it in one of my least favorite colors and I have to say. I have to admit my jaw totally hit the ground when I saw the finish she had created. After losing her husband several years ago, Cathy has been down in the dumps. Painting furniture has been very healing for her and this feature is the icing on the cake. THANK YOU!!! It means so very much!! Shelly
Thanks for hosting! I am new to blogging so this is my first time linking up! Your stuff is so inspiring!
I seriously just about died the first time I saw Alison’s buffet ~ I love it so much! All of the features are gorgeous and well-deserved! And yes, it’s such a good feeling when you want to get back into things after an all-out streak. I’m glad to hear you’re having fun with it! 🙂
Beautiful pieces!!!
Hello from Australia 🙂 Gorgeous features Marian… Thanks for hosting, have a great weekend, Jo 🙂
Hello Marian! I love your so inspiring blog!
Today I join the party with my window cornice turned into a shelf for my collection.
Besos from Argentina! Silvina
Marian– As of yesterday morning, I can’t get to your blog’s homepage without using Explorer (my primary search engine is Google Chrome). Today, I can open your blog through Explorer, open today’s FFF feature (yeah!), copy that URL into Chrome’s window, and get to the furniture feature that way on Google Chrome. BUT once I’m at your blog on Chrome and click the “home” button, I’m still returned to this same error page: https://missmustardseed.com/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi
My guy’s a retired systems engineer. He says it’s likely a global DNS problem or could still be at your end. Any suggestions? (sorry to use Comments for this, but email to webmaster@missmustardseed.com bounces back)
Yeah, I use Chrome and was having the same problem. The blog was offline yesterday morning, but something goofy happened for those reading it in Chrome. Follow the directions on the error screen to clear your DNS cache and then clear the cash/browsing history from the menu in Chrome. I did this a couple of times and now it’s working fine. Sorry for the trouble!
Thanks much! Clearing the Chrome cache did the trick (following instructions on error page, several times, didn’t). A day without MMS is missing a bit of sunshine; happy to get back to your homepage without jumping through cyberhoops.
Hi Marian,
Really great features. Thanks for hosting this party.
Incredible dressers! Thanks for the inspiration as I head up to the CL Fair:). have a great weekend, Jen-City Farmhouse
I asked you a question about some upholstery you posted last week and never saw an answer! What staples do you use to put the fabric on the wood frame? Do you also use glue?
For this post, which I love, how do I find your products out here in Portland, OR?
Sorry, I thought I had answered that, but a few people asked the same question, so I may have missed it. The fabric is stapled to the frame with an upholstery staple gun and the trim is hot glued on. I do have a few retailers in your neck of the woods. You can find a full listing here… http://www.missmustardseedsmilkpaint.com/retailers/
How do I submit furniture to be featured? Where should I link? -Nicole

Thanks for hosting Marian! Great picks as always! I have to say the whole beachy vignette from The Modern Cottage Company is simply dreamy.
There are so many wonderful re-done pieces, I really don’t know how you pick. You are a wonderful hostess.
I have been asked to distress this piece…I have never used milk paint before but definately think I need to on this piece. I have always used latex. If you can see the piece I’ve uploaded, my question is that it seems to have a urethane finish on it…should I just sand it to remove the finnish or should I use the bonding agent. Or what would happen If I did nothing? I will be using layers of different colors…

It’s an awesome post in favor of all the internet visitors; they will get benefit from it I am sure.
