I received tons of comments and compliments on my teal china, so I thought I would share a bit more about it.  A few years ago, my mom and I went to Virginia to clean out my Opa’s attic after he died.  I had been treasure hunting in his attic for years (with permission, of course) and found all sorts of cool things that no one else in the family was interested in.  The attic was filled with boxes and boxes of stuff and it was very buggy up there, so I only did so much digging before I would get the heebie-jeebies and had to stop.  When my mom and I went to clean it out, it was the final clean out, so it was time to go through everything.  In one of the boxes burried deep under the eaves, I found this gorgeous china set.  It is a hand painted, monogrammed set that was given to my great grandmother as a wedding present.

Each piece is signed and dated 1924.

We found dinner, luncheon and dessert plates, plus teacups and saucers.  Unfortunately, all but three of the teacups broke when we washed them gently by hand.  They are very delicate, so I was happy that even three survived.

Pieces of my silver pattern also belonged to my great-grandmother, grandmother and mother and it’s called Steiff Rose by Kirk Steiff.  The soup bowls are Royal Ivory by KPM and were also an attic find.  The white linens were a wedding gift to my husband’s parents.  So, a little bit of everyone is represented on this table!  And that’s the way it should be, right?

I did the photo shoot in my kitchen and family rooms today.  Sigh…I have sooooo many photos to edit, but I am thrilled with how they turned out.  They were tough rooms to shoot, though!  I had to practically rope off that section of the house to keep it perfectly neat.

I’m making great progress on my shot list and I feel like it’s all finally coming together.
