I am pretty sure that the first thing I ever bought online was an antique piece listed on eBay. Whether it was the first or not, what I vividly remember is feeling nervous about the entire idea of buying something online. Clearly, I’ve gotten over that! Not only has my confidence grown in buying online, but eBay continues to grow, evolve, and find ways to bring the best products to their customers in the most secure way. One of their latest programs is eBay Refurbished, which is the most trusted way to purchase certified refurbished products from vetted sellers online.
There was a time when I was skeptical about buying refurbished products, but when a couple of professional photographers shared with me that they always bought their camera lenses refurbished, it opened me up to the idea. Since then, I’ve bought all of my lenses, a camera, electronics for the boys, and more. Everything has been like-new with original packaging (unless noted), product manuals, and in perfect working order.
And now, I’ve decided to dive into the world of air fryers! Do you have one?

I don’t usually jump on small appliance bandwagons, but I have heard so many rave reviews that I thought it was worth a try. That is the one I picked based on size, reviews, and price, but has a wide variety of brands and styles of air fryers as well as other small appliances like mixers, toasters, convection ovens, and more. I bought it for almost 50% off the going retail price because it’s eBay certified refurbished. But, buying refurbished isn’t a big tradeoff when I’m buying from a top-rated eBay seller. I’m covered by a two-year warranty. I don’t have to hesitate to press the buy button with that kind of backing.
And I don’t want to gloss over the two-year warranty (serviced by All-State because that’s a big deal when you’re buying refurbished. The two-year warranty comes with all eBay Certified Refurbished products only (other categories of eBay Refurbished, like Excellent, Good, and Very Good, come with a 1-year warranty.)

The air fryer looked like new and worked just as expected. To take it for a whirl, I made some air fryer zucchini fries (I share the recipe at the bottom of the post.) Zucchini is one of my favorite vegetables and I love making baked zucchini for lunch, but they can take a long time to cook in the oven.

With this air fryer, I can whip up some breaded & crispy zucchini fries in just a few minutes.

I have to say, I might be an air fryer convert! I’m not going to be cooking five-course dinners in it or anything, but I can see it’s going to be a winner for quick, crisp cooking.

As we’re heading into the holiday shopping season (and we have a 16th birthday coming up), buying products will help us stretch our gift budget. All of items are guaranteed to be in pristine condition, they are professionally refurbished and/or inspected by the manufacturer or an approved vendor, and they are all backed by a two-year warranty.
Here are a few Certified Refurbished eBay products that might make a nice gift for someone on your list. We either own the exact item or something very similar from the same brand, so I know they are excellent items from experience. When shopping for refurbished products on eBay, make sure to look for the …

I’ve had an air fryer for about 1 year. I love tater tots cooked this way, 16 minutes at 400. NO OIL REQUIRED. So good and crisp. I also toast my bagels in the air fryer. 4 minutes at 400. Easy and fast. I use it a few times a week for various things. I hesitated before buying, afraid I wouldn’t use it much. I’ve been pleasantly surprised.
I do not have an air fryer. However I have two single friends ( male and female) who rave about their air fryers and what they most recently have cooked in them. I know sooner or later I will break down and buy one. Maybe the time is now.
Thanks for your recommendation as to where to get some bargains.
Random question. Do you know the name of the pattern of the plate shown in your photos. I love it! Thank you!
Marian I am like you that I do not get on the new sm appliance rave bandwagon right away. I do not have an air fryer but 2 Christmases ago I was given the newest pressure cooker machine and since I was almost burned badly years ago by a pressure cooker I asked the giver if I could pass it on to her daughter she said sure. Well now my cleaning lady is enjoying that same machine. It was way too complicated to operate. I think Easy is my moto especially as I get older.
I have the same air fryer. I’m going to try the zucchini recipe.
I’m not much of a cook, but the things I’ve made haven’t been that great. Sure wish I could come up some good recipes becasue it’s so easy and quick. The zuccini sticks look reallygood. Thanks for your recipe.
Marian, does your air fryer have a plastics smell? We tried a similar one but different brand, and I couldn’t get past the ongoing plastic odor (VOCs). If yours doesn’t, I might try one.
I just ordered one from Ebay based on your recommendation. My husband loves fried food, but we seldom eat that way. I’ll give it as a gift this season and see what he thinks!
I don’t have an air dryer. I avoid small appliances as much as possible just because of space. But with my two older boys back home for school, I may have to rethink that air fryer. It would be nice for quick meals for them.
After reading your post, I saw news that a woman’s air fryer caught on fire after the power in her home went out. When the power was turned back on, a power surge occurred because her air fryer was plugged in. Sounds like this is happening to others with air fryers. Just a heads up.
Such astonishing, I would like to try it, thanks for sharing~
