Copper & Tin Giveaway

There are times when I’m browsing through an antique store and someone asks me what I’m looking for.  My response is almost always, “Well, I don’t know.  I’ll know it when I see it.”  I find that my method of shopping has shifted from wanting to get as many things as I could for my money to wanting to get something that really speaks to me or makes a statement in my home.  So, when I received an e-mail from Carrie of Copper & Tin and I checked out her Etsy shop, I knew I wanted to work with this proprietress.  So many pieces in her shop spoke to me.  These are the three that spoke the loudest…

…a “for rent” sign…

…a paint brush…

 …and an ironstone mold…

Here are some of the pieces currently in her shop that I love…

(Click on the pictures for more information.)

Not only do I get to highlight this amazing shop, but I also get to offer up a giveaway for TWO $50 shop credits to Copper & Tin.  Here’s how to enter…

Visit the Copper & Tin Etsy shop and browse through the 250+ goodies Carrie has collected and photographed.  Come back to this post and leave a comment letting me know what you would buy if you win one of the shop credits.  That’s it!

If you get paranoid about what you really want selling before the giveaway is over, you can buy it and will be credited the $50 if you win.

The giveaway is only open to readers in the US and those who are over the age of 18.  Entries must be submitted before  Sunday, March 3, 2013, at midnight PST to be eligible to win.

Good luck!

I received compensation for this featured post, but all opinions are my own.

  2. Oh my goodness! There are so many things I would love to buy from Copper and Tin, but considering a $50 limit- I would first want to purchase the Vintage Canvas Tool Carrier for $38 . I could use the carrier to put all of my jewelry-making supplies. Next, I would put the remainder towards the Vintage Hand Made Curved Chopping Knife. Ever since I lived in Alaska and drooled over the beautiful Ulu knives I have wanted a knife like this to chop herbs and such more easily. I am also very in love with the suitcases, particularly the smalled, square one. Oh, so many things to love!

  3. The very old black vintage typewriter. (square one) My Grandfather had a couple of them but my 2 sisters got them & I’d love to have one, too. Memories of trying to type on that when I was a young girl…. : )

  4. Oh my! Such great stuff!! I would love the vintage skee ball game, the uneeda butter biscuits tin, the vintage red magazine holder . . . .

  5. It’s a tough choice… I have narrowed it down to three things…
Vintage Large Black and White Fiberglass New York Subway Sign – Perfect for the entry collage.
Vintage Red Football Shoulder Pads – Love this for my son’s man cave…
Vintage Red Trug Magazine Holder Log Carrier with Chippy Paint – I use red as a pop of color through out my house, this would be great to hold books and magazines by the couch.

  6. I love the Vintage Black and White Hand Made Wooden Garden Trug. Very neat store.

  7. To many to choose, but would love the pink depression pitcher to use for my daughter’s birthday party!

  18. So many vintage goodies to choose from – how to pick just one? The black and red thermos takes me back to Saturdays at the woodlot with my Poppa, my Dad and my Uncle – cutting enough cords to get us all through the winter in Northern Ontario was a lot of work but it was fun too and thermoses filled with hot black coffee kept the men going, while the promise of steamy bowls of chili and fresh baked bread helped us finish!

  19. It’s hard to choose just one! I would first get the vintage cattle poster, I dreamed of having a cow to show when I was in FFA and this takes me back to those days. I would use the rest to buy the cork net floats to go with the bucket of cork floats that belonged to my husband’s grandfather we found helping clean out the shed for his grandmother.

  41. Wow! …hard decision. I like the Hoosier spice jar, the brass scoop, door hardware, antique leather book and the small screwdrivers with wooden handles. 63. First I want to say I love your blog, I’m on here multiple times per day :).

Then, I will say I saw many things I love on that Etsy page. I’d have to say my first choice would be the Uneeda Baker’s wafer tin (kind of funny, but my name is Anita, sounds like uneeda, hehe). My second choice, if that was gone, would be the large square apothecary bottle with the spanish label.

  64. The vintage binoculars with Leather Strap brought back so many memories from my childhood. I would love them!

  65. what a wonderful shop…….i love the canvas tool bucket and the wooden sawblade holder gosh already had visions of what and where to do with them i wish me luck!!!! and luck to all that enter =)

    Thanks for everything.

  73. This lady has some great pictures of her stuff! I would get either the Vintage Extra Long Chicken Feeder – Galvinized Tin ( I have seen some fun stuff done with these that I want to try), Vintage Red Merit Tool Carpenter’s Level (I have one old level and would like to start collecting them) and/or Vintage Brass Handheld Asco Family Scale (my mom had one of these growing up and I always liked it).

  83. Oh! so many great items. I would pick the Vintage Chalkware Christmas Figurines or the Vintage Shirt Colar Box. Maybe even the Barber Brush,or the Brass Balance Scale.

  84. Gorgeous stuff! I would either choose the vintage French clarinet or the ladies leather skates. I’ve got so many ideas of how to display them!

  126. As a former farm girl–we had draft horses when I was wee one–I tend to gravitate towards old horse items. I love Bakelite, and so the possibility that the rings on the work horse hame could be Bakelite make this item even more appealing. Carrie notes that item “is grubby and musty smelling” given its former use, but that, in my farm girl opinion, is the way it should be.

  208. The sweetest thing is that winking Santa mug. Mu husband had one of those when he was young. When we were clearing out the attic after we bought our house from his parents, I insisted it was not worth keeping because we couldn’t possibly use it for drinking anyway. I’m sure we donated it or tossed it. That was before I really sat the worth in those old memories. I would love to gift that adorable mug back to him…
    Karen

If I had to choose, I like the three spools of wool yarn…I’d weave something! I also like the brown double-sided letters and the ironstone pudding molds.

  315. I’m mad about the Vintage Brass Balance Scale on Octogonal Base. I’ve been browsing estate sales for a few years now, always with an eye of what I could pick up for my sister’s resale business…and now I’m in the business to help my family make ends meet. Recently I decided to give myself permission to keep a few beautiful items to enrich my own home instead of watching them go out the door to enrich the homes of others (which is in itself a happy thing to do). The scale speaks to me because I’ve always adored creating tasty meals for my family, and I’d like to start a very carefully handpicked collection of vintage and antique kitchen implements. Thank you Miss MS for bringing Copper and Tin to our attention!

  316. The vintage Vacationer Train Case Luggage … this would be so wonderful to use with the many old suit cases I use for my craft shows to display my Infinity Scarves… love this etsy shop… going to bookmark … thanks so much
