A Winner and The Barn Sale

First of all, some business…  Thanks to all who participated in the Lisa Leonard Giveaway!  The winner of $40 to spend at Lisa Leonard’s shop is Melissa from Stamping with Melissa!  Congratulations!  Just send me an e-mail (marian@missmustardseed.com) and I’ll give you all of the details to claim your prize.

This is an exciting weekend for me.  It is my very first barn sale as a vendor with Chartreuse and Company in Buckeystown, Maryland, which is near Frederick.  I’ve only been to the barn twice.  The first time was one month ago, as a shopper.  The second time was last week and I was setting up my shared booth as a vendor.  It’s amazing how things can fall into place, isn’t it?  I have truly been so blessed in my business.  Some day, I need to sit down and write a post about the journey and all of the people who took a chance on me.  I am constantly amazed and a little befuddled by it.

Anyway, here are pictures of the booth I share with two delightful women who have perfect taste, Lynette and Christine.

Yes, it is literally a barn sale and we are in the hay loft…hay included!  There’s also almost zero natural light, so you’ll have to cut me some slack on the photos.
I love this little chest.  Christine has a knack for finding things I’m looking for!  I want a small chest like this to replace the foyer table I sold at Lucketts.

Lynette painted this sweet drum table…

…and I’m seriously thinking about buying this vanity for my half bath.  I’m going to have to measure to see if it will fit.  If it doesn’t sell and the measurements are right, I’ll know it was meant for me.  The hardest thing about working with these ladies is that I want to buy everything they’re selling!  We could just get together and swap things, but then we’d never make any money.

I am in love with this cubby hole shelf that I’m selling.  It was a divider in a large crate that held glass water bottles.  It has the coolest metal details on it.  Love.

The sale runs through Sunday, so try to make it out if you’re local.  It really is an amazing place, even if you just want to walk around and get creative ideas.  You will leave inspired.

  1. I just wanted to say that thanks to you (and American Pickers) I took a good look through all the barns at my parents farm. I found some great "found objects" like tin buckets, old grain sacks and lots of rusty things. You're so inspiring!

  2. Ahhh swoooon. I could find a little comfy corner to curl up in and stow away seriously. I love seeing all your little treasures in this rustic setting. The little silver clochet, an ottoman, and that tiered cake plate stand is to die for!!

  3. Oh my! What wonderful items! I love that chandelier!! And that cubby is to die for!!! I too love the vanity and it should look perfect in your half bath!
    Good luck on your sale!

  4. I loved the cubby hole to hang in the kitchen and use it to hold little treasures or tea cups!
The sign you painted is beautiful!!!
    I really love everything.

  5. I know EXACTLY which space you're in!! I love Chartreuse's Barn sales … but I doubt I'll make it to the one this month. Good luck, not that you need it with fabulous stuff like this.

  6. The space looks amazing, you ladies are so talented. I am happy for you that your business is going so well. It's really no wonder….you're a fabulous lady! Keep up the great work. I'm taking notes. 🙂

  7. It was pure genius to hang the oblong wardrobe mirrors from the angles in the ceiling. That looks amazing….well, the whole place does, too, of course.
Also, when you are painting your signs, where do you come up with the words that you put on them? I just love those signs….I spent a ridiculous amount of time yesterday combing your blog for pics of them. 😉

  8. That barn display is divine! I love everything you pictured, especially that vanity. I hope it fits in your bath and is meant for you! Good luck. Wish I could make it.

    Hugs,
    Jami

  9. Congrats on your new shop. It looks absolutely wonderful and with the use of mirrors the lighting is great! Wish I could run right over and shop!

  10. I don't know how you sell some of your finds – you're a strong woman! I love the booth and congrats on your continued success!! Jen

  11. Your photographs are beautiful, partly because all of your things are beautiful and beautifully arranged, but are you a professional photographer as well? My photos never come out looking near as nice!
