Check out how it works…
Their Mission
To provide parents a website to help teach children the value of a dollar, how to work and be responsible, in a fun and positive way.
Their Website
My Job Chart (myjobchart.com) is a free, online, customizable chore chart system that is revolutionizing the way parents run their homes. By combining cutting-edge technology and opportunities for positive reinforcement, children are motivated by the unique, interactive program to do their chores and better grasp the value of the dollar. The system is one of the most effective tools in teaching children how to save, share with worthwhile charities and spend on things they need and want.
Key Features Your Will Love
1. It’s FREE!
2. It’s ONLINE! Technology engages kids, not a chart on the wall anymore
3. Easy to set up as the parents
4. It’s incredibly simple for kids to use.
5. You can set up each child’s account with chores that are specific to their age and abilities.
6. Everything is customizable for each family. The specific chores, the prizes that will appeal to your children and even the amount of points that they will receive for each chore they complete.
7. It’s fun!
8. Teaches kids how to save, share and spend.
9. Parents can receive an email or text when their child’s chores are completed or rewards are earned. They can then reply to this message by posting on the child’s “post-it note” to positively reinforce good behavior and work ethic. MJC also has a fully integrated message board system to encourage communication between family members
I’m excited about implementing this tool in my own home and I hope it becomes a valuable and fun resource for your family as well!
After all, the mountains we want to move in our home are not mountains of laundry, mountains of toys and mountains of clutter! We need a hand with those things, so we can move the fun mountains…slipcovering, painting, refinishing, upholstering, arranging, rearranging…

This looks great! I have big boys- 17 and 14, but we can use all the help we can get! BTW, I've become your biggest stalker. I just love what you do and I am moving into a new home soon and can't wait to try some of your tutorials! You truly are an inspiration, Marian.
Oh this sounds great! I list my kids chore on a chore chart done in Excel, but every Saturday, my son "pretends" not to see one or two of them. Saturday night when we picked up from a friend's house at 8:30, he had the choice of vacuuming out my car (which is mostly a mess made by him), or not getting allowance that week. He vacuumed the car. I think putting the responsibility more in his hands would motivate him, and maybe he would stop "not seeing" the chores he needs to do. Good for you for starting early! Good luck with the toys too, having twins, I finally just gave in a bit, and realized our home was not going to be as clean and tidy as I wanted it, but the payoff and joy of my kids helped me to let some of that control go.
This is sooo what we've needed. My kids are a little older than yours (8, 7, and 4) so they really want to be able to earn some money for all the "important" things they need. It was impossible for me to keep track of on a daily basis who had earned $3 and who had $4 etc and I know those little rascals usually got the best of me. I think these people are genius to come up with the perfect combination of work and reward all in one spot. Thanks for the post.
Hi Marian,
Love the armoire and I've been following your blog long enough (three months) to know that you will make it look better than the $12,000 piece.
Also I plan to use the Myjobchart with my 28-year old…don't ask.
Could you please tell us where you got the bamboo floor pieces with the graphics? Love them.
This is an awesome concept and here's the best part…if your little ones can grasp this concept that means my 16 & 18 year old kids will have "no excuses"
So…MMS thank you so very much for sharing this valuable tool with us.
Very cool!
my kids are a bit older my littlest is 5, 9 and the oldest 11.they help me with lots of little things around the house. even if it's as small as helping set the table, emptying the bathroom garbage cans or making their beds. i think it's good for them and it helps me too, i have finally realized i can't do it all by myself 🙂 i'm going to check out the site i think they will like it! susan
Love My Job Chart! We have been using it for the past 3 weeks and my 3, 4, and 7 year old LOVE it. They even want EXTRA chores to get more points. They just "spent" some points on ice cream last night. Fun to see them excited about helping as well as earning.

What a great idea…love your beautiful home – so pretty!!
Oh, it is soooo lovely, if I see that truck on it's way north I may hijack it! I know you will make it look like a million dollars! You decided on color yet??
thats great! ill have to check it out!…my husband was a youth pastor for years 🙂
That is the coolest thing! Our son is only 5 mo., but I'm excited to learn about these things now so we can be prepared! If only they had something like that as fun for adults! Hahaha….real life stinks sometimes. 😉
And I agree…the more time you have, the more you can do the fun stuff!
Hugs,
Gail
The job chart program looks intriguing and with even my youngest kids being 13 an 10 they are well able to do the computer thing.
As the mother of 6 ( 21-10)the best hint I ever got as a mother was to strictly limit the number of toys my kids have in favor of them becoming super readers and not dependant on toys/video/games for entertainement. This hint has made it so much easier to deal with such things and has indeed made my kids the only ones I know not glued to handheld mind sucking games each time you see them. Now books.. that is another story so one of our chores is going to have to be sorting and straightening the shelves 🙂

Thank you so much for sharing about this website! I have a four year old son and my house sounds a bit like yours 🙂 I think this may be the perfect way to get the mess under control….
