There have been so many things coming into the studio lately that it’s been impossible for me to photograph each one, so I thought I would go around the “Lucketts staging area” and snap a few pictures.

I found this old lineberry cart on Craigslist, of all places!  We just cleaned it up and applied a coat of Hemp Oil to bring out the richness of the wood.

You can also see some of the beautiful baskets I’ve been collecting here and there.

A reader sold me her collection of vintage bakeware…

…and I finally found an old chicken feeder to use for displaying random plates and lids.

I also acquired an awesome blue scale…

…a rolling wire rack, chippy painted basket, a little wooden stool…

…lots of glass cloches in varying sizes…

…this cool antique fan…

…wooden spindles, buckets, rolling carts and stoneware bowls…

…rolling pins, mashers, wooden spoons, pie boards, bread boards…

…old gas burners and another scale…

…barrel keys strung on grosgrain ribbon…

…my favorite kind of alarm clock (I already have at least four!)…

…and lots of ironstone…

I’ve been acquiring a good mix of really nice pieces that are higher end and some “scratch & dent” pieces that are more affordable.  I know when I first started collecting, all I could afford was the ones that were chipped and cracked and I still see value in them.  Some of my favorite pieces, in fact, have chips, crazing, cracks and discolorations.

While I mostly have white ironstone, I have picked up a few pretty patterns…

…and we got in another large order of brushes from Germany, so we’ll be stocked up for the market…

They are great, inexpensive “add-ons” and I love the texture they bring to a space.  Kriste worked on pricing them today, which is no small task, since it’s all done by hand.

I’ve said it a few times already, but I just love how the entire collection is coming together.  I’ve been really picky about what I have allowed in the space and I think that pickiness is paying off.  I hope all of the Lucketts shoppers will love the space as much as I do!

And, one last thing.  If you were hoping to purchase one of the ticking stool slipcovers I designed, make sure to sign up to receive the Decor Steals newsletter, if you don’t already.  They are coming up for sale again and I don’t want for you to miss it!

  1. I feel like I would have a hard time being Kriste, because I would want to bring all the things home with me! ha! Simply lovely- wish I could come out to shop. Love your little ticking covers too! Just darling.

  2. You always have fabulous things in your market booths, well done again! I’m drooling over the gorgeous ironstone pitchers, the wire baskets and the lineberry cart! Can’t wait to see how it al comes together, it already looks fabulous!

  3. I’m so jealous of those who get to go to Lucketts and shop from your fabulous goods! It’s a little far from Washington state for me to come.

  4. The shoppers will love your space. You are selling a lot of gorgeous things. I love those pins and all of the different brushes.
I’m very excited the stool covers are being offered again on Decor Steals. I love them. They are really well made and are priced reasonably. Love Decor Steals and love your work. I

  5. As a virtual shopper, I can bet the Lucketts attendees will swoon over it all, Marian. The inventory is beautiful, individually and collectively, and I can’t wait to hear your success recap. I know it’s a month away, so feel free to keep those photo displays coming!

  6. I too am jealous of all the lucky people that get to go to Lucketts! Maybe one day I will make it a vacation!! On a different note I want to tell you that I purchased your Hemp Oil on Amazon (no retailers close in SC)and whoa …… I LOVE IT. I wanted to refresh some wood items I keep on my porch in the summer….wellllll lots of things got refreshed and it is amazing. I soaks right in and leaves the wood looking “satisfied” if you will! I had an old crock stand that needed an oil drink as well and it looks brand new (in an old kind of way). Love this product and will be refreshing anything wood that gets near it! Thanks for such a great product….I see why you use it on so many pieces. My old claw foot dining table that is being stripped down to the wood is next!

  7. Love it all…wishing I wasn’t living in Canada and could go to Luckett’s market….I grew up in Dillsburg. That’s a lot closer!

  8. Marian, I swear you are the ‘Pie’d Piper’ of all the ‘beautiful old things’. They must flock to your part of the states to be chosen by you! What a fantastic eye you have. I would love to come live in your workshop…. 😉

  9. I live too far to come to Luckett’s, but I can bet that soon you’ll be having your own event to sale your goods. Then you won’t have to haul it all there. I’m sure that is the hardest part. One day I’ll make it!!

  10. So many wonderful things…the one thing that jumps out at me is that huge breadboard…I’m sure it will go to someone with a perfect place to display it as it should be! I’m far away from Luckett’s but it is fun to come and browse – it’s free, I guess and that has a charm all of it’s own! 😉

  11. I just have to say you have an amazing Craig’s List. The items in the Greater KC area are not unique and are really priced high. You find amazing things on yours. Jealous!

    1. I agree, I’m in KC,MO also and I’ve never found pieces like hers on our Craig’s list:)

  12. What a stunning display! I get mesmerized looking and dreaming about what I would buy and where I would use it and the story behind it! I wish I was going to Licketts. Good luck, I know you’re going to do well.

  13. Miss M – I think it’s time you held your OWN sale in your studio. Invite artisans from your area to participate. You’ve arrived girl!!!

    1. I’d love to do that, but I’m concerned about the parking. It’s something I’d have to do in another venue. I’m cooking up some ideas, though!

  14. I missed the last time decor steals had your stool covers. I was so disappointed. So thank you for making more available. This time I didn’t miss it. I am so excited to get it.
Thank you. I follow you and just love all the things to re-do and share how to do.
    Deborah

  15. I would love to purchase the huge breadboard as I cannot make it to Lucketts. Is that a possibility? My husband and I would come and pick it up at your convenience. Thanks, Jackie

  16. OH my goodness! I want to go soooo bad. Can’t you just sell me the piece of brown transferware? I already have the stool cover, now I just need a cool stool like that. Everything looks great. I know you’ll do great.

  17. What FUN!!! Everything looks great. Love the brushes, I have a “thing” for brushes. The large breadboard caught my eye too. We have one (minus the handle”, that was passed down from my husband’s grandmother to his dad and then to us. It came with a large roller pin as well. They made their own fresh pasta by hand (no pasta machine in their house)!!! That’s just the way it was done❤️??

  18. It’s just mind-boggling all the very nifty things you’ve gathered together! The shoppers will be thrilled, I’m sure, Marian! I sure wish I could find ironstone as frequently and in such quantity as you do. I don’t know whether I’ve been looking in the wrong places–I go mainly to thrift shops–but there seems to be not so much of it here in MI.

I hope you sell everything at Lucketts and make a ton of money!

    1. I do not know how you don’t get “attached” to your items. I know you have a business to run, but do you struggle in this area or have you “grown” past that? Beautiful job collecting and refurbishing your inventory!!!

      1. Yeah, it’s definitely something I have grown into. 🙂 If I try to keep everything I love, my house would be crammed full and I’d be poor from storage unit fees!!

I find a lot of joy in finding something and then passing it along to someone else who loves it, too.

  19. Marian this is your best Lucketts display to date. Everything is perfect, special and spot on! I think you do such a great job curating your items and space you should open a Miss Mustard Seed store, it would be a hit for sure! Good luck, I know you’re going to come home empty handed!

  20. After a crazy day – the best part was looking at your shop. An amazing collection of all things I LOVE! Kudos to you. I say open up your workshop as your storefront. Folks will flock to it on foot!
    : )

  21. Hi Marian
I ordered two ticking covers from the last sale.
    And they are very nice.
However my first thought was this could not be how you would like to,see your products presented.
They arrived in a brown mailer, crumpled up with no paper work or presentation details.
The covers themselves are well made and quite lovely. I see how much thought you put into the upcoming event at Lucketts and I find it hard to believe that you would like to see your products arrive at a customers destination with no respect.

  22. Marian, I’m so confused, I had planned on attending Lucketts (I’ve been reviewing your blog everyday for months now), then thought I had read somewhere it was taking place this weekend (4/22-24/16) which would conflict with something else I had committed to 🙁 but now Just recently read it is taking place next month? Would you please do a review of when and where Lucketts is? I so badly want to come! Thank you in advance! 🙂

    1. Sorry, I didn’t realize they had some other sales that were confusing shoppers. That’s a new-ish thing for Lucketts. I will be a vendor (with all of the goodies you’ve been seeing on my blog) at the Lucketts Spring Market, which is May 20-22, 2016.

  23. Everything you show us I love. I am actually painting a very large poster for the French baker and
patisserie chef in our neighborhood . It will have a little girl ( his ) holding a Charlotte cake and at
the left side near her foot, a basket with different sorts of breads. Your photo arrived in time, it will
look like that basket shown next to the fan. On the right bottom side will be a Croquenbouche
pilled up on a cake stand not unlike that white one with a scalloped edge I see on another photo.
I feel like we have similar eye for these lovely old things, and wish you weren’t so far away. In the
summers ( I spend in France ) , one can still find some things a little bit in the same style. All the best,
    Monique

  24. Your booth is going to be fabulous! Wish I was closer to be able to go. Speaking of Christie, I love her shoes in the photo. Can you tell me where she purchased them? Love, love your blog!

  25. Oh, how I would live to live close enough to visit the market.
I used to be a fan and shopper at Decor Steals but, I chose to stop because of their misuse in representation of the American Flag as decoration. The statutes are clear that banners, pillows, table linens, etc are not allowed. I had the same issue with Pottery Barn and when I asked them to review the statutes, they complied. Decor Steals has not. Would you please use your influence to encourage them to do the right thing?

  26. OMG
    I love your items!!!
I live outside Philadelphia and I was reluctantly to drive to Lucketts -4 hours!!

But now I am thinking it may be worth it.

Lucketts Spring Market Wish List 2026
