Quickly, I wanted to highlight that today (April 28) is the last day to join Pup Club Prints as a founding member and receive the beautiful German Shorthaired Pointer fine art print. Pup Club Prints is a fine-art snail-mail print club for animal, art, and analog lovers. It’s just $10/month for a quality 5 x 7 giclee fine art print, and you can cancel at any time. As an inaugural member, you’ll also be entered to win an original 8 x 10 oil painting (commission) from me. You can sign up and learn more HERE.

When I moved back to the mid-Atlantic region in 2022, one of the most frequently asked questions was, “Are you going to sell at Lucketts again?” (If you’re new here, you can head down the Lucketts rabbit hole HERE.) I was so excited to be close enough to participate in some form or fashion, but I knew I wouldn’t be ready to set up a booth for a while! I have been out of the furniture and antiques game for a while, and the idea of getting back into it is pretty overwhelming. I just don’t know if my back is up for it or if my heart is really in it anymore.
But Lucketts has always been a magical place for me, and it’s an important part of my story as a creative and business owner. This is my very first Lucketts market in 2009…

(This first market was technically the Old Lucketts Fair, which was held in early fall and featured crafts and antiques.)
And, at my last Spring Market as a vendor, in 2017. I had my own directional sign, which is something I never would’ve imagined when I set up my first 10 x 10 tent in the parking lot of the old Lucketts schoolhouse eight years earlier.

Because I wasn’t ready to set up a booth again, I decided to participate in the easiest way I could think of – I would go to the market as a shopper! Let me tell you, that is so much fun and sooooo much easier than setting up two 20′ truckloads of furniture.
So, I have been shopping at the Lucketts Spring & Fall Markets and sharing about it on Instagram and here on the blog. I bought furniture for my studio and kitchen, concrete pieces for my garden, and, last year, this amazing pair of mid-1800s oil portraits.

I’ve dipped my toe into participating as a vendor by selling some of my original oil paintings through my friends at Ekster Antiques and The Past Restored.

But, every market, Suzanne (the owner of Lucketts) and I would find each other, share a hug, and say things like, “We need to figure out what we want to do together in the future.” It was never a question of if, but when. It finally feels like the right time to make my return to Lucketts. It will be different from what it has been in the past, though.
For the upcoming Lucketts Spring Market, May 15-17, 2026, I will be doing a Live Painting Demonstration and Meet & Greet on Friday afternoon (May 15) from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. I’ll be there shopping and getting things set up in the morning, but then I’ll be painting at my easel next to the wine tent. I will be bringing a few original oil paintings in antique frames to sell, along with some Feels Like Home books.
It’s a small start to gauge the market for my original oil paintings at a venue like Lucketts. Are antique-minded shoppers looking for work by contemporary artists? Will my current work resonate with the Lucketts crowd as my painted furniture and antiques once did? Would I want to set up my own booth again and, if so, how would I fill it? I don’t know the answers to those questions, but I’m curious and want to explore them a little further.
And I know this much…I love everything about Lucketts. The people, the vendors, the vibe. It’s the kind of place you want to visit to drink it in and hang out with inspiring, awesome, hardworking folks. You leave, hoping to carry some of that home with you, along with your purchases and the dusting of fairground dirt coating your boots.
You can purchase tickets for the Lucketts Spring Market HERE or at the gate after noon on Friday.

So exciting! I wish I could attend this year. I dream of having a booth at Luckett’s one day. Wishing you all the best!!
I think this is brilliant. I say if you make enough money to buy something you really want at the market it will be a win win for you and your lucky customers and the vendor where you make your purchase. I dare say some of your long time fans will be happy to see you again.
My husband and I already have our Early Bird passes for Lucketts, so I will be watching for you. (NOT in a stalkerish way). I am very excited because the first time I saw you at Lucketts I wanted to say hello but you were teaching a milk painting class and I didn’t want to be rude and interrupt. Hope to see you there and say Hi.
I miss your days at the market. I always found your booth so interesting. I realize people grow and move in new directions but I think of your presentation years back with fondness.
I love it when you go to Lucketts! So much inspiration!! Have fun & hope you find something you didn’t even know you wanted.
