Before we get to the furniture party tonight, I have something super exciting to share. My blog BFF, Shaunna from Perfectly Imperfect, is going to be on HGTV! Dude! Since we’re blog BFFs and friends in real life, I’ve known about this for a long time and I know it’s been killing her that she had to keep it a secret, but now the cat’s out of the bag and the pilot is going to air this Sunday, May 3, 2015, at 2:00 pm EST. The show is called Sweet House Alabama (#SweetHomeAL) and, in the pilot, Matt and Shaunna are helping a family make an old southern home functional for a modern family. I can’t wait to see how the makeover turns out and I know I’ll be cracking up along the way. I hope she pulls out, “Spackle dries, in like three minutes, ya’ll” at some point. (You can see me impersonating her saying that at the end of this video.)
Anyway, I’m just so proud of my friend. I hope all of you can tune in and/or record the show.
Now, onto my favorites from last week’s FFF…
I was totally floored by this transformation by Zoey’s Uber-Chic Loft. They turned an old factory cart, which are so cool, but not always practical, into a settee! Brilliant.
Mallori from Vintage Finds took the plunge and painted the upholstery on this French chair. I still don’t know my thoughts on painting upholstery and I don’t know if I’ll ever do it, but I think the results are great in this case and it’s a good option for those who don’t want to reupholster.
Jen from Girl in the Garage created a beautiful design on the front of this dresser with nail-head upholstery trim. I think that was very clever and it looks so chic.
