furniture feature friday | favorites & link party

Furniture Feature Friday
Good evening, everyone!  My mom, Kriste, and I worked super hard today to try to get the rest of my pieces painted for Lucketts.  We got a ton done and, at three weeks out, I’m further along than I’ve ever been.  I still have a lot of upholstery, slipcovers, sewing, etc. to do and I would like to find more smalls/accessories, but I feel like we’re nearing the finish line.  Tomorrow, the three of us are going to do a bit of shopping to hopefully find a good haul of well-priced smalls.  Wish us luck!
Tonight, though, it’s all about your furniture finds and makeovers.  Here are my favorites from last week…

I love this primitive cupboard shared by Larissa of Prodigal Pieces.  Really, the entire room is amazing, down to the crystal chandelier, plank and beam ceiling and all of the finishing touches.

As I’m about to make some slipcovers of my own, I was so inspired by these pretty, flirty pleated skirts with ballet ties, made by Shelley of Slipcovers by Shelley.  And she worked with stripes, no less.  Impressive!

Lastly, Joan of Scavenger Chic was so resourceful when she made this hinged storage crate, complete with a “blue crab” logo, out of an old fruit crate.  What caught my eye about the crates she used is that they are from a farm right down the road from my house!  Her tutorial on the transformation is really good, so it’s worth a click.

Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!

  1. I’m linking up with you today, Ms. Marian! And I’m so mad at myself for not seeing you at Becoming. I kept thinking I’d have time to hunt you down and then the weekend was over. Sending you lots of love and thanks for hosting,

  2. I looooove looking at all the creativity on the Friday linkups!
I grew up around construction and woodworking and it just seemed like I was the only woman in the world who could construct, deconstruct, repair, paint and refinish! At least in my generation! Now I have discovered a whole world of talented and creative women. Totally awesome!
It is a shame so many in my generation were stuck with home-ec when shop would have been so beneficial! I can’t tell you how many of my friends are afraid to hang a picture, let alone pick up a power saw or sander!
I love that there are so many women willing to roll up their sleeves and get dirty 😉 So many in my generation gladly hand over the paint brush and skill saw to their husbands…WAY TO GO GIRLS!!!!
I think the features get better by the week! Thanks Marian!

  3. Thank you so much for the feature! You completely just made my day! So glad you got your computer back, computer problems certainly are not for the faint of heart! Have a great weekend and thank you again!

  4. Thank you for hosting. I’m in love with that union jack chair you featured as well. I enjoy seeing what everyone is painting.
