Furniture Feature Friday
We spent the day driving down to Alabama for the Chapel Market.  It was amazing, but we were able to fit everything  in a 4 x 8 open trailer, a minivan and a little overflow in Kriste’s Civic.  I’m pretty impressed with ourselves that we made it work!  And prayers carried our van with 202,000+ miles on it, towing a loaded trailer, here safely.  So, tomorrow is set up day and I’ll also be hanging out with some friends.  I’m hoping to have time to do some decorative painting for Layla (and tour her house) and spend some good time with Shawnna.  She’s become one of my dearest friends and I wish we lived next door to each other.
Anyway, tonight’s about furniture, so let’s get to it.  Since I am busy with Chapel Market this weekend, I’ve asked Jessica from Dear Emmeline to pick favorites for me and she obliged.  Here’s what she picked…
When I saw this old door turned mantle by Anita of Far Above Rubies I was blown away.  It is gorgeous!  The low profile is the perfect solution for having a mantle in a small space.  It’s also gorgeously styled for fall in red tones with a pop of bright blue.

How cute is this entertainment center turned armoire by Allison of The Golden Sycamore.  Covering the unsightly media openings with planks, adding a clothing bar, and some pretty paint gave this piece a whole new look.  We’ve been on the hunt for a wardrobe for our daughter’s room but I think I need to broaden my search to include media cabinets!

Bre of brepurposed turned an old spindle headboard into a quilt rack.  The pretty coral paint and lacy burlap ribbon look lovely together.  The nail heads add the perfect finishing touch.

Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!

    1. Kate, sorry! This was posted while I was on the road before it was finished! I had a guest picker, Jessica from Dear Emmeline. I’ve linked to her and introduced her now! 🙂

  2. “We’ve been on the hunt for a wardrobe for our daughter’s room but I think I need to broaden my search to include media cabinets!” WHAAAAT?! Marian, is this a not-so-subtle way of telling your readers you’re expecting, and it’s a girl this time after two boys?! If so, nicely done and congratulations!

    1. LOL! Yes, there was a guest picker, Jessica from Dear Emmeline, and the post went up while I was on the road, before I had written a proper introduction! 🙂

      Just have two boys….not pregnant.

  5. Love the furniture feature Friday!
I have a problem I wonder if you could help me with. I painted a dresser gray with yellow trim and yellow drawers then waxed with clear wax. After staring at it for a week now, I have realized that I really should have trimmed the indented edge of the drawers in gray. How do I remove the wax in the small indented area so I can paint it. Will I have to sand it? ( hoping not).

    Thanks,
    Debra
