furniture feature friday | favorites & link party

Furniture Feature Friday
So, there was a bit of a misunderstanding last week when I had Jessica from Dear Emmeline as a guest picker for me.  The post went live automatically before I had the chance to write an introduction for her, so some readers thought I was talking about my girl’s room (which I only have two boys) and were wondering if there was a new addition to our family that they missed!  I think we got it all cleared up.  No girls.  Not pregnant.  That was Jessica talking about her daughter.
Anyway, I am finally feeling a bit rested up and ready to get back into my routine after the push to get ready for the Chapel Market.  Although, this week hasn’t been all rest.  I cleaned the house and couldn’t help but start working on the boy’s room, which may or may not have included a day of painting and moving furniture.  I think after several weeks of focusing on things to sell, I’m ready to do some things in my house.  The floors have been calling my name for a while and they’re getting more persistent.  The walls in the boy’s room were obviously louder, though!
Kriste and I will be back in the studio tomorrow, working on getting things ready for our first workshop (date still TBD), listing leftovers in the online shop and getting focused on what needs our attention over the next few weeks.
Until then, we’re here to talk about furniture, so here are my favorites from last week…
I love this feed sack chair by Larissa of Prodigal Pieces.  The before and after is pretty dramatic…imagine this upholstered in purple outdoor carpeting.  The “darling” feed sack is a huge improvement!

Can you believe this gorgeous bookcase was found on Craig’s List, first of all?!  Lisa from 16 L Street wanted to brighten it up a bit without changing it permanently, so she tried adding gathered fabric behind the shelves (on the right).  I think the idea is brilliant and love that it can be changed easily.
And lastly, I think this buffet by Karen from Somewhat Quirky turned out so warm and authentic-looking.  She layered two paint colors and wore the top one away to reveal the darker color underneath.  It’s so subtle and shows real artistry.

Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!

  1. Hi Marian! It was so nice meeting you and bringing home a MMS piece. I’m loving my little white cabinet and I’m sharing it with anyone who will listen! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share our special furniture pieces…and, yes, I’ve shared that special little white cabinet here with your readers. The Chapel Market was indeed a special little show, and I plan to attend again next year. Thank you for being part of it.
