Hey girls. Well, I’m pooped. You saw how much I accomplished yesterday and today was busy as well. I spent about five hours out hunting for new treasures to bring to Chartreuse and Wild Rose. I came home with a van stuffed full of goodies. Ironstone, a couple of cabinets, a drafting table, an industrial wooden rack on wheels, a huge laundry basket, a large glass cloche, a bird and branch candelabra, a metal stool, a balance scale, and more. All of the upholstery and painting is starting to catch up to me and I’m tired. Anyway, I need to push through Monday and then I can take a little break.
All of this to say that I browsed through the furniture entries last week, and although there were tons of really good ones, I just picked one favorite.
This dresser painted and refinished by Between Blue and Yellow caught my eye, because one – it’s French and two – it’s different. It’s ochre. Everyone, including me, is painting pieces in grays, watery blues and white and it’s nice to see a pop of color.
Yellows are very hard to do well. They can look like a school bus, too lemony, or too bright. This is a perfect warm and sunny shade. And you know I love the dark top!
Keep up the great work, ladies!
Here are the rules for this get together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) The link party closes Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their project on next week’s FFF.

I love your blog, Marian. Thanks for all the wonderful ideas you share. Linda
Any tips on using the color yellow? The dresser is beautiful
You're right- that's a very well-done yellow.
I spoke to you about five months ago about blogging. I don't know if you rtemember but you were SO kind and helpful – thank you!
I'm afraid it's taken me all that time to pluck up courage to tackle any furntiure! I had a definite medical phobia!!!!
The bedside table I've linked up is my very first attempt. I'm rather excited about it!
Thanks again for your encouraging words all those months ago. They meant a lot to me.

I so agree, yellows are very difficult to choose right. Lovely inspirational piece!
I'm always a little giddy when I've done a new furniture piece, which isn't very often. "Woa… I can play over at FFF!" 🙂
Thanks for hosting!

Marian,
Once again thanks for hosting. I linked up a built in storage towers and bench unit. I hope that is considered furniture. If not, let me know and I will remove myself.
Keep up the good bloggy work!

Is a repurposed screen door "furniture?" If not, I'll just have to enjoy looking at everyone else's projects!
Hi Marian. I am so glad I finally have a project to link up again. I hope you like it!
And did I tell you recently that you are amazing! You get so much done and in such a short time. You really have a wind behind you.
You certainly are a busy lady and super talented too! 'Busy Mom'… is there a better job in the world? Crazy, yes. Tiresome, yes. Rewarding every single day, yes. 🙂
