HGTV.com and an SOS

I have some very exciting news to share.  A few weeks ago, I was asked to write some tutorials for HGTV.com.  ME!  Little ole me!  I’ve been an HGTV junkie for years, so when I received an e-mail from them, I could hardly contain myself.  My first articles will be posted in a few weeks and I will definitely share the links.
So, while I’m offering design ideas on HGTV.com, I’m also sending out an SOS to True Value Hardware.  I entered my 1940’s bathroom in their contest to win $2500 to makeover the space.  You can check out my entry here or view the video below.
My two-year-old flushed the toilet while I was making the video and I just had to keep that in the edit. Oh, I really hope I win.  This bathroom could be gorgeous with that money.
Anyway, I’m heading out to an awesome community yard sale tomorrow morning and I hope I find a ton of goodies to share.

Well done, you are going to be GREAT.

  6. Congratulations…I'll be watching for the links.

I hope you win the bathroom redo. I had to laugh…my parents' house had green plastic tiles in the upstair's bathroom. When the house was sold the people that bought it did a huge redo and I'm pretty certain the plastic tiles are no more. I didn't think anyone else would know about them. My parents' bathroom was done in the early 1950's and I guess platic tiles were big for a while.

  7. You are a natural in front of the camera!!

Until you do your makeover, maybe put a poster behind the window glass.. you could have a view of the ocean or the mountains… whatever you choose!

  8. Go back to the post about your few professional setbacks and how you were feeling down. Read the comments. We told you so! This is obviously your time. We know you are prepared. We know you are talented. We know you are worthy. So enjoy it. This couldn't have happened to a nicer person. (Well, maybe Funky junk Donna.) Ann

  9. Hi Miss Mustard Seed,
Hope you win the True value award. Should be interested in reducing, reusing, and repurposing your bathroom materials, please contact Retrorenovation.com so that she can put the word out that you have some 1940's materials available for people that are looking for those materials for their reno.
I really like your bathroom, however having ceramic tile would be good, so in time with your house.

I love visiting you everyday. See you soon,
    Always, Teresa
