{this post is not about a nest}

There are days when I’m really busy. I have my usual level of busy, which might be about a 7-8 on the busy scale, and then I have a day like yesterday and today where it reaches a 10.  We’ve been installing bead board and trim, shopping, cleaning out the basement, cleaning my office (yes, again), going to church, going to music practice, hanging a chandelier, making pleated ribbon trim for lamp shades, moving around furniture, making curtains AND I baked an apple pie today.  From scratch.  Yeah.  I told you it was a 10.  So, here I am at the end of busy day number two and I feel like I have nothing to write about.  I didn’t snap pictures along the way, because that would’ve pushed the busy scale to an 11, which we all know is not possible.  I have a lot to share, but nothing that’s blog-ready, yet.

So, here’s a pretty picture of a nest and a small post from a tired blogger.

I may not have a show-stopping, comment inducing, life-changing post, but I DO have bead board in my bathroom and got to enjoy fresh apple pie a la mode tonight with my family.  I think that’s a pretty good trade.

Incredible! That’s a lot to accomplish – even in a week! Did you take a “before” photo of the basement? I’d love to see at least the “after” – your spaces always give encouragement and inspiration!

    2. Laura

I am out of breath reading your post! I wish I could bottle your energy.

      You are amazing!

    3. rachel

I think all of that would rate a 15 on my scale! That is a lot to accomplish…and the best part to me would be fresh baked pie with the family 🙂

Sounds like a mighty fine day. Apple pie ala mode from scratch, sounds good to me!

If anything this post is inspiring. Its amazing that your pushing your self to the limit for the things you love. You seem to be handling it very well. It’s life changing for me to read post like these. Gives me motivation. Thanks for taking time to share, even if it does seem small.

I thought you were close to a 10 yesterday… glory hallelujah for the moment with the homemade apple pie…

MMmmm. love the smell of fresh apple pie!

I can totally relate. Worked on furniture for my shop today and ended the evening going through my ‘work room’. I hate to admit that I probably purged more items then I should have but I NEEDED TO…it just had to be done. Apple pie sounds delish, I had apple crisp on my ‘to-do’ list today but didn’t make it….there is ALWAYS tomorrow. 🙂

You totally deserve 2 pieces of pie tonight! And something about your nest picture is incredibly soothing. 🙂

      Aw! my favorite… a NON-Sequitur photo.

      Just because…

      get some rest girl.

You have inspired me to get up and “move mountains” with my creative side since I started following your blog a few months ago. This post gives me much sought after relief, because a dose of reality from the expert tells me that it’s ok to be exhausted after a “10” day…thank you Miss Mustardseed!

    13. Anneke {RustiChic}

Hmmm…I was debating if I commented would it make things even more busy??? 🙂 Sounds like hyper drive to me. You’re allowed a day off!!! You’re doing a great job! 🙂

    14. SueAnn

Got any pie left!? I will be right over! I hear you about the 10 scale day! Been having them myself and no pics! Sigh!!
      Hugs

    21. A Speckled Trout

Oh the basement……..the monkey on my creative back. Maybe the smell of a pie baking would be my incentive. Or not.

    22. Alice

Whew, you wore me out just reading all the stuff you did! Sunday I didn’t feel good so nothing was accomplished other than church, lunch with dad, watching the games & Food Network, and a long nap on the couch.

Church, beadboard and apple pie…..what could be better on a Sunday?!

    23. Karen

      Amazing!

    24. Eileen

Accomplishing so much is wonderful in itself. Apple pie is a Great Reward.

    25. Lesley

      Excellent trade.;)

    26. Alice R.

Thank heavens you understand which is more important. Enjoy your time with mom.

    27. Dawn

Beautiful photo:) You deserve a rest. You can post anytime and your fans will still be here:) Enjoy some more pie and put your feet up for a while.

Well – I guess the blogpost was about nesting – because all your work was about feathering your nest. That takes work and a lot out if you. I’m amazed that you blogged at all. It’s hard just to blog – I know!! When I’m blogging and also working in clients’ homes – my house usually suffers…big time! That’s what I have to concentrate on today – putting things in order first…then I’ll blog.

Thanks for all your posts…short ones and long ones!

    29. Ruth

I love making apple pie from scratch. It makes the whole house smell so good. I don’t eat it though. I never have liked it but my family does and I love to make it.
I can’t wait to see your bathroom with bead board. I have wanted to do the same thing here. Our bathroom needs help.
      Ruth

    32. JD

Please give me some of the “energy” pills you are taking…I thought I did a fare amount yesterday…alas, I am an amateur. Smile.

    33. Barbara in CT

Time to give up the Sunday posts. As much as we love them, I think God was onto something when he/she rested on the seventh day.

    34. michelle starling

I’m tired just reading what all you’ve been doing. You need a vacation.

    35. Heidi

I loved every bit of your post . Your blog is so fun to read 🙂

    36. Beth Marohn

I’m sure the end result will be so worth the wait for us to see! I’m actually happy to hear that you get to make some progress with that project! I know it’s been a while coming. It’s good that you can get it in before the holiday craziness too! Or was that the needed push? I know it can sure light some fires around here! LOL!!

    37. Becky D

Oh yeah – if I had beadboard and apple pie, I would be a happy girl! I want beadboard in my kitchen and my bathroom 🙂 I hope you are going to show us yours

    38. Darleen ~ Places In The Home

Isn’t it funny how interesting life is to read about. And no, MMS, I don’t think that’s a pretty good trade…It’s a great trade!

    39. Melodye

Marian, I hope you are feeling better! It sounds like, if you are still under the weather, you are soldering through! I’m still muddling through… not as good as soldering, but…. 🙂

    40. SheilaG

Wow, I think I need a nap, now! I’m gonna’ play mother hen, now, and say get some rest- your body needs it to have strength to fight yucky stuff. Very technical and doctor-like, I know. 🙂

    41. Lauren

Wow! Apple pie a la mode with the fam is definitely worth not taking pictures. I’m hoping for a tutorial of the pleated ribbon trim…I saw some at a fabric outlet a few weeks ago and couldn’t fork over the $5/yard cost, so am hoping to make some for less. Maybe you have the secret??

    42. Bland R

You go Girl! Just remember to stop once in a while!

    43. Jessica

Always take time to enjoy…apple pie, Yummmm.

    46. Ginger

Ha Ha, Tonight I made waffles for dinner as a peace offering to the offset the grumpy mood I was in all day, for no real apparent reason.

      It worked!
