Today we are heading off on our family vacation to Arizona and Colorado. I am giddy with anticipation. It has been a sprinted marathon to get through this summer, but tomorrow we cross the finish line and it’s all about time with the boys, hiking, taking in the scenery and unplugging for a while. I’ve been working on some posts, so things will run as usual here on the blog, but I won’t be checking e-mail or responding to comments very often. I’ll pop in here and there, so I’m not welcomed home by 2500 e-mails in my inbox. If you have something important to ask, I would suggest waiting until September to send me an e-mail!
I do have a guest picker lined up for FFF next week, so be ready to link up…same blog, same time.
Here are my favorites from last week…
Anyone who knows me even a little bit could pick this dresser by Julia of 551 East Furniture Design out of a lineup as one that would win my affection. It’s blue and white, chippy, heavily distressed…everything mustard-seed-ish. MMS Milk Paint wasn’t used for this piece, but the color is strikingly similar to our new Artissimo. This piece is beautiful, Julia.
I thought this upcycled job by Julie of Less than Perfect Life of Bliss is so cute and clever. It was an average antique trunk, but they gave it a lot of TLC to transform it into a corner bookshelf. The pinstripe lining puts it over the top for me!
I think this brush-stroke-y (yes that’s a technical term) ombre dresser by Meagan of Estuary Designs is so striking! Wow! And the styling is perfection as well.

Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!

I never have anything ready when you do this.
I don't have a project this week but I am looking forward to seeing what others have done. Thanks for hosting.
aaaw! thanks so much for featuring my little blue dresser! so glad you liked it! about to link up a project this week that was inspired by your burd cabinet, though mine is very amateur in comparison as i am NOT a decorative painter. my husband was just making fun of me because i was saying i am so excited to meet you in person at lucketts. i really am!
I so wish my hutch was ready! It is taking forever as I have to paint EVERYTHING to get rid of the kitty cat smell. I really wasn't planning on painting the inside also, at least it looks nice so far…
The blues are just lovely. Thanks for hosting – I'm happy I'm able to link up for the first time this week. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Oh my gosh – thanks for featuring my sideboard! How fun!!! Very sweet of you. Loving all the blue!
Can't wait to see all the greatness this week!

I love all of them! I actually featured the mini dresser on my blog last week.
I wish blue would match my scheme, I'm so jealous of all the blue. Lovely picks! I'm also excited about meeting you next week at Luckett's!
I am linking for the first time here and really excited about it. I love your blog. Sorry, i just did an earlier post but its of my fav table so could not resist 🙂
Thanks for hosting. It looks like there are already some great projects.
Love the blues! I'm seeing more and more blues and teals and even greens out there on furniture and it's just beautiful. I'm going to have to do my own. Thanks so much for your blog party hostessing, I look forward to it each week.
I think you have one of the best parties around. The furniture makeovers and tips are so inspiring. Thanks for all you do!
🙂 This lightly blue I have had a lot of years. The last blue piece of furniture has received six months before a white coat.
It's a beautiful color, but not forever 😉
Greetings

Love all the projects that you featured. A great use of the color blue. Wonderful!

Love those pale blues!
Thanks once again for hosting this party!
I was not really a blue person but I found that it is growing on me. I love the furniture pieces you have picked out. I definately agree that leaveing the wood on top unpainted makes a piece look even better.
I am definitely a blue furniture — in fact blue house — person. And I think you've really hit on it Marian: getting the right color for each piece. Of course, that's open to interpretation but as I browse I sometimes think that there are certain default colors that get painted because most things will look good in them and with a little more extra thought…but that's me. Meanwhile you've shown the best of the week I think. Thanks, as always, for hosting this. Jane F.
Those are some fabulous blue furniture pieces! It's giving me inspiration – I just linked a new chest we're about to makeover!
Thanks for hosting,
Allison
