furniture feature friday | favorites & link party

Furniture Feature Friday
Well, I am so sorry for the no-show last week!  I actually had a post all ready to go and I scheduled it, but it didn’t post!  I didn’t realize it until I went to find my favorites and it wasn’t there, so I apologize for that.  I was still feeling pretty rotten from my surgery, but I wasn’t that out of it.  Anyway, I found some great favorites to share with you this week and I’ll make sure it posts this time!
This eastlake headboard by Rachel of Shades of Blue Interiors entirely makes this master bedroom makeover.  Rachel painstakingly stripped off the dark, glossy finish to expose the beauty of the old wood.  She then finished it with Danish Oil to protect it and add a luster without the gloss.  The entire room looks great!

Danielle from Finding Silver Pennies repurposed an odd-sized antique Jenny Lind bed into a functional bench.  Not only is this so clever, but it turned out beautifully.

If someone told me, “I’m going to take a cheap, old metal bar cart and spray paint it gold…”  I would be a bit skeptical.  Well, that’s exactly what Janet from Shabbyfufu did and it turned out great.

Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!

  1. I always enjoy your posts and your Friday party. I spend a lot of time visiting various blogs and seeing people’s work. The other day someone posted on one of my older blog posts that “there was a special place in hell for people who paint antique furniture.” I guess I am going to have a lot of company although most of what I paint aren’t true antiques!

  2. Marian! THANK YOU for featuring my headboard and my room! I meant to write this on Friday morning when I discovered it, but I was out of town and I’m just now getting my head screwed back on 😉 You are so so kind and I truly appreciate the love. After all these years of the link party, and now I have less time to go and link up to all the different ones, this is now the only one that I will occasionally link to and I still get just as excited about a feature than when I got my first feature nearly 3 years ago (remember the gray, cream, and beige union jack dresser?) Packing up today to head to Haven this weekend and hoping I get to meet you! Although you are a proper celebrity, so I’m sure there will be a crowd around you most of the time! 😉

  3. Just seeing this as I was out of town and took a computer break and I thank you Marian for featuring my bar cart make~over! I know that you’re already at Haven, but wishing you well with your speaking anyway and hope to meet up sometime in the future.
