furniture feature friday | favorites & link party

Furniture Feature Friday
I’ve been decorating for Christmas for weeks, but for some reason, the fact I actually needed to shop for presents snuck up on me.  I ordered a few things online, but finally I went out shopping and now I’m feeling (more) ready for Christmas day, not just decorating for it.  So, since the holidays are upon us, this will be the last FFF of 2014.  I’ve been pretty surprised with how many of you have been cranking out furniture even with the approaching festivities.  I guess things like weather, black Friday, baking and gift-giving can’t overshadow a DIYer’s desire to get something done.  You’re my kind of people.
We’ll pick this party back up on January 8-9.  Until then, here are my favorites from last week…
I shared earlier this week about a moment I really liked in my house.  I had tossed an old quilt on a chair to rescue it from the wrestling match happening in the family room.  It fell in such a cozy way and I snapped a picture of it.  This picture, shown in the coastal Christmas home tour on Finding Silver Pennies, is a moment like that.  One that evokes the image of a toddler clad in footie jammies, climbing in an heirloom rocker, snuggling up with a bear.  I just love this moment.

Speaking of moments, this entire room is one.  Amy from The Little Farm Diary created a room that’s playful, festive, classic and comfy.  I know many of us would be all over painting that wood paneling, but I really love how it works in this space and how Amy balanced out all of the wood with white furniture and pops of color.  This room is like a hug from a good friend.  Yes.  I’m feeling a little sentimental tonight!

I had to make the last favorite of 2014 a piece of painted furniture and this one is a beauty.  Patty from Old Things New gave this buffet a new look with a soft gray wash that perfectly suits the classic shape of the piece.  I’m also really digging what is going on with that wall!  I think it’s partially peeled wallpaper, but who really cares.  It has a neat texture, so why not go with it?

Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!
