Hello, all! I did have a chance to pick favorites tonight. Yay! I really needed the chill time on the couch after packing look books all day. My back is letting me know. Anyway, the black pieces tonight were catching my eye, so I decided to feature these black beauties…
This buffet by Danielle of Antique Recreation is simple, classic and pretty. It was a little wild when she bought it, but she “Danielle-fied” it, which made it a lot more sophisticated. I think the white doors as a backdrop makes it pop as well.
I love pieces in the style and scale. I actually have one almost exactly like it, except mine’s painted an off white. It was great seeing it in a black with the rich wood peeking through by Custom Comforts.
Lastly, I think this piece by Zoey’s Uber-Chic Loft is really cool. Leaving parts of the design wood emphasizes the pretty details on the drawers. I also love that she describes this as “steam punk.” (On a side note, Zoey, girl, you’ve got to get yourself a blog! Your work is great.)
Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!

Thanks so much for the feature Marian! What an honor! I always enjoy your party, and I’m looking forward to browsing through this one as well. Thanks again!
Thanks for all the linkups Marian. There is always so many awesome pieces on here.
I totally agree with Marian re: Zoey’s uber-chic steampunk vanity! That girl should have a blog. Loved the black and white desk on her Facebook page with the pipe drawer pull also. Quite awesome!
Number 19– Ms. Beckwith, Please don’t paint that mission oak bookcase pink! Please don’t refinish that mission oak bookcase! They were meant to have that dark color and if you take that off it will look like something from Oak Liquidators. Sell it to someone who loves it as is, and buy something else to paint. I mean no disrespect….just gotta tell you.
Thank you Marion for featuring my daughter’s dresser today. I can’t tell you how much it means to her.
She was in Peru the first 6 months of this year doing volunteer work there. She was considering doing long-term mission work, but while there, she realized it wasn’t really her calling. She wasn’t sure then what God wanted her to do. While still in Peru, she began reading everything about furniture, starting a business, and ordering milk paint from your blog. Via email she told me she wanted to do furniture and I didn’t exactly encourage her. I have done furniture in the past and it is so much work and not much money. Plus the fact that she has a college education and I was hoping she’d use her degree. But, she pursued on and somehow sucked me back in. Before I knew it we were driving all over Ohio hitting yard sales, flea markets, and auctions. We have found a wonderful collection of items and we have our first show tomorrow.
She’s both excited and nervous. You have been a real source of inspiration to her and it would be an understatement to say you are her furniture idol. Thank you again for being so generous with your advice and information and featuring her black dresser. It is a real beauty and I will miss it when it sells since it has been sitting in our living room for a few weeks.
Hi Miriam,
Thanks so much for the party. Have a lovely weekend.
Hi Marian,
Thanks so much for the party. Have a lovely weekend.
Thanks for the party! It’s always so inspiring!
Thank you so much Marian for featuring our cool Steampunk Style Vanity!! It was a hit in our shop too…..it sold within a day after we brought it 🙂
Thank you for the compliment on our work, it truly means a lot to me, especially when it comes from a very talented gal like you! You continue to inspire me everyday.
LOL… I should look into creating a blog….stay tuned for that!
Hi Marian,
I recently started using your milk paint. Laura at Ironstone Nest has definitely been my inspiration and go to after I was able to take a painting class form her a while back. I am so in the beginning stages of painting furniture but love it. Family and friends seem to like it too, however, I am reluctant to show it to others. I did paint a buffet that I’m pleased with. Take a look when you have a chance.
I enjoy looking at your post and love your work!
Hi Marian! How does one submit a link to FFF? Thanks!
