I’m ba-ack! I actually got back on Monday, but it’s taken me a while to get back into the swing of things. Those who participate weekly may notice I just visited your links and left comments today. I have really been running behind on things and am struggling to catch up.
As always, there were some very impressive projects and furniture pieces shared a couple of weeks ago. Here are three of my favorites.
Cassity from Remodelaholic and her $15 headboard made out of kitchen cabinet doors. I’m just going to speak the truth, here. There are a lot of DIY projects out on blog land, HGTV, in magazines, etc…that clearly look like a DIY project. Do you know what I mean? Someone would look at it and say, “oh, you made that yourself out of some old cabinet doors.” I saw this headboard and it looks like she ordered it out of the Pottery Barn catalog. It looks like a $1500.00 headboard, not a $15 one. To me, that’s what good DIY is all about. Cassity even shares a materials list, plans, and step-by-step directions on how to build one for your home.
Finally, Ann Marie of Twice Lovely scores the mother-of-the-year award with her puppet theatre and French play kitchen. Now, I have a pretty cool mom. She drove me to play practices and to work. She gave me everything I needed to start my business. She proof reads all of my blog posts. All of that said, I wish she had made me this kitchen. Can’t have it all, I guess, huh, mom?
You have to check out the piece of junk furniture Ann Marie used to make these adorable pieces. She is a DIY genius.
Now, ladies, you’ve had two weeks and most of the country has had decent weather, so I’m expecting great things. I can’t wait to see what you’ve been up to!
Here are the rules for this get together…
I am drooling over both of those buffets! Someday I hope to find one in that style to work some magic on.
Saw those chests. They did a nice job with them. Hope you enjoy the clock and the bed. Thanks for hosting. Jane F.
Thanks for hosting today. You picked wonderful pieces to feature!
wow, marian! thank you so much for featuring my buffet. i saw sherry's as well and was in love with it! hope all is going well in the new shop and that you are allowing yourself some down time as well! i know it's hard to make that time sometimes, but it is so necessary.
This is my first time to link up to your great Furniture Friday.
I just have to let you know what an inspiration you've been to me! I've just finished up my fifth month in my space at a local consignment center. September was by far my best month yet! I have turned my hobby into a real "job". Your tutorials and inspiration and tips and tricks have helped me immensely. Never underestimate the power you have to help women like me believe that they cab succeed at doing something they love.
With so many great blog out there, I just have to say that yours is absolutely my favorite right now. I'm not sure when you find the time to post such great things, but I hope your high energy keeps up (for our sakes). : )
Thank you for all you've shared with us.
Best,
Cori

PS: I was inspired by your Fresh Cupcakes window and did one for my kitchen window a few weeks ago. You make me feel like I can do anything! What a gift you have.
Thanks for hosting this blog party.
oops! I did the link wrong. Sorry about that. I tried to delete the close up of the bench and couldn't. Hopefully you can. Thanks.

Love the buffets, just gorgeous!
I'm a total novice at furniture makeovers, and at this blog party linking thing, but I love trying new things. 🙂
I have no room for any more furniture but those two buffets tempt me to squeeze one in- so beautiful- what a talented bunch of readers you have.
Oh I just love the buffets! And that white and blue one definitely sings!!! Sweet!!
