Furniture Feature Friday | no. 2

As I’m sitting here, looking through the #FurnitureFeatureFriday2 feed, it’s snowing outside.  I know there is a collective groan in Minnesota, but I am enjoy the magic of the snow falling in contrast to a flickering fire in the Living Room fireplace.

There’s also something nostalgic about looking furniture posts and picking favorites.  I started the FFF party in the very early days of my blog and it was such an amazing way to connect with other creatives and I’m enjoying that aspect of starting this up again.  I’m finding and following many new-to-me feeds filled with furniture inspiration.

So, here are some favorites from last week…

Isn’t this coffee table by @cedarandgrayinteriors just perfection?  I love the hardware and that rustic wood top contrasted with the painted drawers.  The styling is also brilliant!  I love the large book open with the metal basket lined with old books layered on top.

I just love this simple antique table by @shackteau_interiors.  And those handles are just amazing!  I have never seen anything like them before.

Chelsea from @shopacozyhouse actually submitted a different dresser to FFF this week, but I picked another dresser from this feed. This gorgeous dresser painted in a custom-blend of MMSMP Artissimo and Boxwood caught my eye.

Jenni of @thevintagesongbird is just a whiz with upholstery!  I love that she gets a high end look by hand painting grain sack prints onto inexpensive fabrics.  I did that a long time ago and I’m feeling inspired to do it again!

If you don’t have an Instagram account, you can still browse through this week’s entries (no 2) from your computer, tablet, or mobile device by following THIS LINK.

If you’d like to participate in this week’s Furniture Feature Friday party use #FurnitureFeatureFriday3, so we can find you and this week’s submissions don’t get mixed in with previous weeks.

I’ll pick and share some favorites against next week!

  1. It’s too early for s***! I always think it is so pretty – until February and then I want it to go – to Florida! Welcome to a midwest winter. We moved in June and the “new” house, while full of character, lacks a fireplace 🙁

All the FFF pieces are lovely -give me the first one!!

  2. A while back ( I think right after you moved ) you posted about some French stripe fabric that you had for a while, ( I forget which room you might use it in ) I noticed it was the fabric I have been looking for, blue stripe with small flowers on a cream background, Are you interested in selling yours ? If you are I am your gal. I found your blog about the time you moved and always look forward to getting it, and seeing all you do. I use to do some of the same things, only I china painted, did not paint canvas. Have FUN decorating your new home, I love all you have done. Becky

  3. Love them all! The green dresser is gorgeous, brilliant mixing those two colors. Thanks for mentioning me in your Instagram stories! Susan

  4. Those mesh cup pulls are from Hobby Lobby (or at least very similar ones). I saw them there the other day, had some in my hand to purchase, but then put them back. I tend to have a teensy bit of a buying problem when it comes to furniture hardware (doesn’t everyone?). Hopefully they will still have them when I find a piece they will be perfect for and go back to buy them! Also, loving that Boxwood/Artissimo combo, definitely going to have to try that some time. And finally, I always love the first snow of the season, although this one is a tad early even for us Minnesotans 😉

  5. Marian, love the choices this week and thank you for bringing FFF back…always enjoy ending my week with some inspiration for the weekend! 🙂 BTW…blow some *snow* down this way in Georgia…we’ll take it any day! :))))) xoxo

  6. Such a great assortment of beauties and those pulls are making me rethink all of mine and what i’d like to change. Since i have retired snow is even more beautiful cause i don’t have to go out in it. It always seems so quite when it snows.

  7. See your Dad was right…the pass back to PA is already snow covered and it isn’t even Halloween. I like to see it twice a year and then I am over it so I guess its a good thing I live in central VA. Thanks for sharing all the Friday features.

    1. I just read where there were 4 snow related deaths in Minnesota from this first snowstorm. BE SAFE!

  8. Love the FFF. It was always a favorite of your original blog! Wondering if you will get back to furniture creations or are you going for a painters way now? Not making the connection but enjoy reading from time to time still. Best to you in your new direction!

  9. Wow I was sitting outside today in my t=shirt…still very warm here in Portugal..well during the day it is…getting a little colder at night I was thinking about putting on socks this evening! I have to say my two favourites are the coffee table that would look fab in my games room and the chair…loving the hand painted sack print design and the open cushion covers…love it!

  10. SO happy you FFF back! All the inspiration & creativity makes my heart happy! And I can just picture the snow fallibg

  11. Marian — you are helping perpetuate the notion that we live in igloos here in Minnesota and that winter lasts for twelve months of the year. Only part of that statement is true 🤔. Last Friday’s snow was a bit early since we normally can expect some snowfall in early November. Oh wait, there was the Halloween blizzard in 1991… Welcome to the land of ice and snow (and glorious summers).

  12. To say I am honored to be featured on your blog would be a HUGE understatement! I have been a loooong time follower; You have not only been an incredible inspiration to me, but I’ve always felt encouraged to pursue my entrepreneurial dreams by your heartfelt and honest posts over the years… Truly, thank you!!
