So.
Our friend Marian is a little busy this week.
Seriously. Do you know anyone else that is as busy as she is?
I love the Lucketts Spring Market for so many different reasons – not the least of which is that it’s where I met Marian in person for the first time. Her preparations for Lucketts may distract her from the blog a teensy bit – but you know she will be back and picking Furniture Feature Friday favorites as soon as she can manage.
Meanwhile….
I’m so pleased, once again, to step in and be guest picker this week. I really enjoy doing it because it gives me a good excuse to really dig in to the link party, sit back and take a relaxing look at all of the projects.
That’s not indulgent….that’s being thorough…
🙂
My first favorite from this week is this little bench repurposed from a dresser by Lisa at createinspire. What a fantastic idea! Lisa (and her husband) did an incredible job. Her vision and his carpentry are a great combo. Looks to me like he used the top of the dresser to make the seat of the bench? Every detail is in place and it makes for an impressive little piece of furniture!
Next up is a little desk. My main reason for picking this little desk is the story that goes along with it. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a great little desk, with an awesome paint job, really cute styling, and nice photography. But the story of painting this MMS Milk Paint desk by Maria at Green Hill Lane Designs, really shows how you might think that everything is going horribly wrong the first time you try Milk Paint….but really?
Everything is going exactly right!
Milk Paint definitely has a mind of it’s own sometimes (okay, almost all the time). Nice work, Maria, and here’s to learning to
roll with the punches, right?
Lastly, this little sofa from Melanie, at Pelican Designs left me somewhat speechless. I don’t even think I need to explain what I love about it. I want to sit on it, I want to own it, I want to be friends with the person who did this makeover.
That is all.
At the time that I’m writing this there are just 24 more hours until I leave on this year’s road trip to the Lucketts Spring Market! It’s been a busy week for me, too – (not nearly as busy as The Mustard Seed…).
I opened my very own Etsy Store last night!
There will be lots of MMSMP!
I’ll be adding more pieces as I complete them.
And, once again, if you can’t make the trip to Lucketts yourself and you’d like to get my reports on the event, please:
The features you chose are AWESOME! However, there’s no link to show off what we’ve been doing this week. Good luck with your new Etsy shop! So exciting! 🙂
AH! I see that @Kammy’s Korner – I’ll let Marian know (she does that part) – if she’s not already had her bath and gone to bed she might be able to fix it!
-b.
Great FFF! The Pelican Designs sofa is just great!
The issue may be a spelling error, Breida! In all the link “language” at the end of the post ‘party’ is spelled ‘pary’. Might be something you can fix if you can access the text not visual page in her WordPress editor.
Great choices, btw, and congrats on your Etsy store opening!
Ladies, where at the end of the post there are five of the furniture logo click on the words below the words in blue. it will take you to the pictures of the projects.
Sorry, I was wrong oops. When I did that it took me to an old one. Should have thought before I spoke.
I checked out your new Etsy shop! Lovely pieces!

Glad the party is back up and running. Thanks for hosting.
Thank you so much for featuring my hubby’s handy work Breida! And, much luck to you with your Etsy store!!
Lisa
Thanks for the party! I love seeing what everyone is sharing, and having a great place to share what I’ve done.

So much inspiration at this party, gotta love it!
Thanks so much for featuring the extra chippy desk. My second experience with MMSMP ended even “chipper” than that although I felt I followed all directions. I, just going to poly it as well and call it a day.
I am ready to go forth and paint over the weekend armed with great inspiration from these links. Thanks!
