And the winner is…

It was really tough to narrow the 100 Followers Giveaway entries down to my favorites. I started a list and it was ridiculously long. I loved the idea of doing a monogrammed piece, a delft bread box, or making it function to hold makeup or craft supplies. I finally narrowed it down to 11, then 6.

Here are my 6 finalists:

1.) Champoeg Rendevous 09 – Swedish folk art design
2.) Kathy @ Creative Home Expressions – Pink…black…white…green…harlequin…very fun
3.) Jenn – Rustic Italian style to match her dishes
4.) Jacey @Trash to my Treasure – Distressed white with a glass knob and “Bread” written in a pretty script
5.) Anne @ Fiona & Twig – Robin’s egg blue with birds and personalized for her business
6.) 2 brown eyed beauties – White with a glass knob and a quote to make it a family heirloom…how can I resist that.

Southerner, you made my top 11…I hated the idea of crushing your hopes into the dirt, but you were up against some great ideas! I wish I had 20 boxes to paint and giveaway (I maybe would’ve had to charge shipping!) I’ll be having more custom giveaways in the future, so keep checking back!

OK…and the winner is…(rolling the dice, drum roll, please)…#6 – 2 Brown Eyed Beauties! Congratulations and I’ll get in touch with you about the details of your vision! Thanks again to all who participated.

antique portrait in the kitchen

Remember the portrait I found at the Lucketts Spring Market earlier this year?  The one I saw a couple of years ago at the fall market, thought about, wished I had bought it, and then came face to face with it again?  The woman in the blue dress with the

The weather has turned hot again, which is expected since we’re halfway through July and in the thick of summer.  Hot, humid weather means I skip my morning walk, don’t stay on top of the weeds in the garden beds quite as well, and generally stay inside except in the
