It’s been a minute since I had my sewing machines out. I had to reacquaint myself with winding the bobbins and getting the needles properly threaded, but I slowly figured it out. The funny thing is that I needed to wear reading glasses over my contacts to thread the needles

I realized once I started working on this post that I was chattier than I expected! I only posted twice on the blog this week and twice last week, and I think I’m feeling that! Writing and posting on this blog have been part of my creative process for over

Very, very nice. What to go on the Craigslist finds!!!! Yahoo! You have a great workspace here!
I think you are very well organized. I'm with you on the decorating books; I like to be able to look through what I've got when I'm thinking of it. I have quite a selection {packed up at the moment} but I hope that whenever I get my home office I'll have them all at hand in bookcases.
my office is like your before picture right now – it seems to be a dumping ground for school papers and all sorts of other things. You have some great furniture in your office. I need more storage like that!
My office is also in great need of some organization. Love what you did with your space. I am definitely considering getting a wardrobe now. Do you mind telling me where you purchased the german glass glitter?
Our office/possible guest room is what I am working on now. The craigslist Ikea sofa was to go in there for a no-tv quiet spot. When we went on Saturday, pitch dark and rainy, they didn't answer the door! He later emailed that they didn't hear us…ringing and knocking and calling? He said to come next weekend, but I am discouraged now…thanks for your note-maybe I will try again…

I'm sure it feels so good to walk in there.
one word — jealous!
What a wonderful space. I'm looking forward to seeing how you paint your fabric cupboard!

Looks great!
What a great space to work in. I don't know about you but I need organization in order to function. Our kitchen has been dysfunctional for almost three weeks and I have felt like crap…but it's starting to come together.
Have a wonderful day.
Love your space. One suggestion – I would use the same size container you have in your storage cupboard – but the style that has the pull out drawer so you don't have to unstack – merely open the drawer and the containers can stay in place. Just a suggestion – but I love what you have done.
Your space looks organized and beautiful. It was great to see all the pieces that you have pictured earlier all put together in one gorgeous room!

How do you do it all with two toddlers? And I'm am totally coveting your fabric stash. Love it all! 🙂
Now that you have your office space all neat and tidy…want to come help me with mine?? Heehee…it looks great.
Just the inspiration I need to get some organizing done in my craft room and closet!
Evan though I don't sew, I just love the look of all the fabric stacked up together.
I'm eager to see the glitter! 🙂 The room looks FAB.
I have the s a m e thing on my mind….It's looming in the future…waiting for me. Yours looks really great. I love all the furniture pieces ~ gotta love craigslist!! I also love the folded fabric, it just looks so nice!

It always feels so good to organize, doesn't it? I always feel a little bit more in control when I do! Can't wait to see what you do with your new projects!
I'm so glad for you that your office is finished! I've been working on mine for a while also, and I know what you mean about the piles of stuff awaiting thier cabinets! It looks great!
I love that black and white desk, marian!! so neat!! 😀
Ha! I thought as I looked at your photos…my office bares a striking resemblance to yours…really…right down to the caned chair…oh my…says I…a never ending battle for organization and creative nesting…smiles.
I'm soooo getting motivated to organize my creative space after seeing you room. I love to use re-done furniture pieces too for storing stuff. Great space!
You have the best Craigslist finds ever! But honestly, it's what you make of them that makes them so special.
I love your work area, to you it may seems a bit of a mess at times, but to me it looks like a little piece of Heaven. And don't ever give up that sweet little chair, it's a keeper!

The prospect of tackling a home improvement project can be intimidating, but if you set realistic goals and take things one step at a time, you might be surprised how quickly you can reinvent your space. A great help for me. http://www.bigappleorganizers.com
