Acorn Apron Interview & Giveaway

I would like to take a post to introduce my readers to one of my newest blog friends, Christine, of Acorn Apron.  She graciously agreed to answer some questions, so we could get to know her better.

Where did the name of your business/blog originate?

It took me probably close to a month to come up with the name Acornapron. I had an existing blog prior to this one but I felt the name and feeling of it wasn’t quite me. So I had someone design a new blog for me and while they were working on that I had time to come up with a new name. Now acorn was inspired by a picture I saw on Etsy, it was entitled the Acorn Queen by Marisolspoon and I tossed the name acorn around with other names and apron just came to mind and loved the sound of it. Acornapron, sounds fun, different, and it allowed me to go beyond just making journals, sewing and etc.

What made you start a blog and Etsy store?

I started a blog way before the Etsy shop, like most people I started the blog for family and friends that live out of state letting them know what we were up to and sharing photo’s. I started the Etsy store because I started making art journals and people were buying them and I love antiquing/thrifting and thought why not share what I find with others. So I started off with art journals in my Etsy store and have since expanded to making pillows and selling vintage items on Etsy. But just recently I started making zipper pouches so those will be added to my shop along with everything else. I only make and sell items I would love to have in my home and each piece is something I really love and put my heart into. I like to think that each item I sell puts a little smile on their faces when they receive their item. It makes me happy.

How would you define your style?

I can’t really define my style it tends to be a little shabby chic, vintage, romantic let’s just say eclectic.

What is your favorite thing you ever made?

I’m not sure I have a favorite item that I make…I enjoy creating and making all my items. But if I have to choose right now I would choose the zipper pouches only because it’s something I just discovered and learned how to make. It’s still new to me.

What is your best bargain and/or favorite find?

My best bargain hands down is a queen size chenille white bedspread that I found at Savers in perfect condition for $12.00! My daughter loved it so it is now on her bed. LOL

Anything else you’d like us to know about you?

That everything in my Etsy Store is handmade or hand selected by me and that I really enjoy having my blog and etsy shop. I hope that everyone who reads or shops my store knows that I love what I do and everything really comes from the heart.

Christine has also agreed to offer up one of her handmade pillows from her Etsy Shop as a giveaway to one lucky person.
