Moving Day

I moved into the shop today!  Well, sort of.
(Warning: There was a light breeze blowing during the filming of this and one piece of my hair kept standing straight on end.  I can hardly watch this video with cracking up at it.  My hubby didn’t bother telling me that I was having an Alfalfa moment.  Thanks, dear.)
For those who can’t see the video, here are some pictures.  (Minus the Alfalfa doo.)
The outside of the shop is going to look so charming once it’s had some minor cosmetic work and has some cute things sitting out, inviting those who stroll by to come inside for more.
This morning, all of my stuff was piled in the car and I was ready to get settled into my new space…
…but, there was this…
…and this…
so I did this…
…and put a plastic sheet over the whole thing.
It all worked out well, though, because I was able to run over to Chartreuse and Company to see their barn sale.  It was glorious and I’ll share about it later.  I’m going back to the shop next Thursday to get my booth set up and “play.”  Fun, fun, fun.

  1. I am sure your husband didn't even notice the hair doo mishap going on, guys usually don't. The space looks wonderful, it's going to be a wonderful spot to display your beautiful items.

  2. I can't wait till the grand opening! I went the tag sale at Chartreuse & Co yesterday and then came home to browse some of the seller's websites. I see your collaboration is with some of the Chartreuse girls! That's awesome!

  3. Congrats. Crazy as it sounds, all that work seems like a ton of fun. I'm jealous I don't live out East where you seem to have all these great old things around. Barn Sale? What's that?

  4. Like the others, I'm a bit envious that you live where there appears to be such treasures to be found! Our flea markets can be just that :/ flea bitten and as if the shop owners could care less if it's displayed neatly. BUT can't wait to see what you do with your display and share with us 🙂

  5. Hello Miss Mustard Seeds I just absolutely adore your blog and your work. I was excited to find out that you are only an hour and half from where I live in Northern VA. Can't wait to visit your store.

  6. We are practically neighbors, so I am looking forward to your shop opening I plan to stop by. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited.

    Now, to watch your video.

    Best of luck!

  7. Congratulations! I'm so excited for you. I LOVE the space too. The hubs and I are starting the search for a space here in Richmond, VA. We'd love something historical with good bones. 🙂 Many of the buildings in the city were built in the early 1900s. So neat!

I can't wait to see what you do with your new place and wish you all the best!

  8. What a lot of fun you're going to have setting things up – of course we here in Blogland can focus on the fun, while you get to do all the work! Good luck!
