43 Inches

You  may have noticed that I’ve been a little quiet lately.  Things have been crazy around here.  We were hit with our second blizzard in less than a week and had over 43 inches on the ground when it was all over.  One of the teenagers we work with wasn’t able to make it home, so we had an unexpected guest (ahem, live-in babysitter) for a few days.

Anyway, all of these components have kept me away from my computer.  I have been getting a lot of things done, however, and I’m just dying to share it all, but the projects are for something special.

Some of you may have spotted a new button on the side bar, but I wanted to officially announce that I am one of ten designers competing in So You Think You Can Decorate presented by Alchemy Junk.  It is a brilliant and fun idea and I am so excited I get to be a part of the “first season.”  Here’s a sneak peak of one piece I’m working on…

The show starts February 28, so be there or be…not fun at all.
I also have a great giveaway lined up for those of you who have been following along with the Decorative Painting 101 Workshop Series.  I’ll have a link party on February 24 where you can share your projects or even just your sample boards.  Three lucky winners will win a giveaway that will help them in their decorative painting endeavors.  Get your posts ready to share, so you don’t miss out.  Come on…be brave!
The Furniture Feature Friday link party is open until Saturday at midnight, so join in!

  1. Congratulations! I am so tickled for you and will be watching! Our little snow seems puny compared to yours. Here in Texas it is the most snow ever recorded in one day!

  2. It looks to me like the USA has turned upside down. In Massachusetts our "blizzards" have netted 3 – 6 inches this year. Wierd! Stay cozy and creative! Sherry

  3. We all grumble and complain when it gets to 12 deg celcius here in Sydney, can't even begin to imagine what we would do with all that snow!

    love your blog!

  4. Well one look of that amount of snow makes our downpour look like a kiddies blanket.
I had guessed you were in the series. I am looking forward to it, seems all my favorite DIY are in it.

  5. Would you believe that I live in the mountains and we've hardly had any snow this year..in fact, we are down to the dirt almost everywhere!!!? I'm looking forward to checking out your design competition…what fun!!!

  6. I too am looking forward to the competitions!! I know it is going to be fabulous!! Look at all that snow. My 16 inches looks lame next to yours. Stay dry and warm!

  7. We usually have that kind of snow. The last two years were unbelievable with the amount of snow we got. This year not so much. Spring is coming. Can not wait to see your creation. Your creations are beautiful.

  8. Your snow make my snow look like a little dust! I love the snow (probably because we rarely get any) so I would be very happy to have that amount of snow—for a while! And, So you think you can decorate sounds fun! I can't wait to follow along.

Now I must hurry so I can link my finished dresser up to your linky party!

    Have a great weekend!
