What I’m Up To…

I have been a busy girl, lately.  Ok, I’m always a busy girl and this time is no different.
I’ve been getting my house ready for two big posts.  I worked on a guest post about three rooms in my home to share on Remodelaholic and my home is stop number nine on the parade of homes presented by Poppies at Play.  So, both of those posts are coming up next week.
And, for those of you who don’t know, I am a youth pastor’s wife.  I also play guitar and lead our youth worship band.  I had the privilege to go to a music/worship conference in Philly this weekend and got all kinds of great information and motivation.  (It was hard to stomach being that close to the Eagles, but I managed.)  I also got to meet Paul Baloche, who is an amazing song writer and a very down-to-earth everyday guy.  I dorked out and had a picture taken with him.  Couldn’t help myself.
I did a couple of workshops with his electric guitar player, who is so talented it should be illegal.  Sick, I tell you.
Anyway, I’m back home now and ready to get back to painting and decorating.  The Luckett’s Fair is knocking on my door and I must start hitting some auctions, thrift stores, yard sales and such to get some fresh inventory.  It’s a burden I must carry.  “Sweetie, we have to stop at this yard sale.  It’s my job.”  Love it!  I’ll probably also shop my home and let go of some things I don’t have the perfect spot for.  The show is May 22-23 in Luckett’s, Virginia, and I hope to meet some of you there!

  1. How neat that you are a youth minister's wife. My husband and I have been youth leaders for years now. I absolutely love teenagers. For one thing, they make me feel young. I just like them, respect them and feel like there is so much to learn from them. I also love to let them know how much they mean to God and to me and how worthy they are.

Anyway, God bless you and your husband and thanks for all you do.

  2. Where exactly is Luckett's, Va? I can't find it on my map. That show sounds awesome! I think you had an amazing weekend. We sure did too. I went with my daughters to Atlanta to hear Beth Moore speak on her new book, So Long Insecurity. It was great!! 9,300 sisters in Christ together at one church, praising God together. And 300,000 people hearing it on simulcast. Incredible!!! You are going to be a busy gal this week. Love & blessings from NC!

  3. I had no idea you were a youth pastor's wife! That rocks!!!! We love our youth pastor and his wife so much!!!!! I know you work so hard!

I started garage saling this weekend! Got 2 cute endtables! Already painted them both!!!!!

  4. Your weekend sounded fantastic. That is so cool that your are a Youth Pastor's wife…and that you lead the worship group. Very cool!! I can see why you were totally "fed" on this trip.

  5. Love your home…you are so talented! Can't wait to see the posts next week!

That's so fab that you can tell your hubby "it's my job"…trying to figure out how I can say that too? Hee Hee!

    Happy Monday! Beth

  6. SO now we know you are ALL AROUND TALENTED! I think musicians are so wonderful. To express yourself in that manner is such a gift! My husband is a musician as well and I love it! (EVEN if it is the drums!)

  8. My husband is a youth pastor, too! Do you live close to Luckett's? I grew up not too far from there in Fairfax, VA. My parents and my in-laws both live in Fairfax, so we visit several times a year. What church is your husband at?

  9. I live in Frederick, MD and I love the Lucketts Antique shop. Putting it on my calendar! See ya there!
