Today…

…I went to Wild Rose this morning to drop off a few things.
…I bought five French chairs, but I didn’t get to take a picture of them to share with you.
…I went clothes shopping for 4 1/2 hours and only bought three things.  I came home discouraged and it’s possible I’ll return what I bought.
…I ran, exercised and did awesome on my diet.
…I feel uninspired, tired and I have no idea what to write about.
…I’m just going to share a few photos, because that’s all I have to share.

Today…

…is almost over.
And tomorrow will be better.

  1. I have those kind of days and then someone makes a nice comment to me and I can't believe how much better I feel. Your pictures are awesome! I will be loving your new lens. Yes, tomorrow is always better.:)

  2. I feel ya on the clothes shopping. I had a baby four weeks ago and so I spent the last umpteen months in maternity clothes and apparently while I was in them someone came along and told the fashion industry to come out with the ugliest, most unflattering clothes possible! Chin up girl, tomorrow will be better.

  3. Sorry you didn't have a good day, Marian. Take a nice bubble bath, curl up with a good book, a hot cup of tea and a cozy throw and relax tonight. Tomorrow is a new day and I'm wishing you a fabulous one!

  4. When all else fails, look at lovely photos! I hate how diets seem to bring me down emotionally. I hope tomorrow is much kinder to you!

  5. Today is Blue Monday the most depressing day of the year. I had a bad day myself and yes tomorrow will be better:)

  6. Awww…it's okay. I think we all have days that just don't go the way we'd like. You're full of inspiration and I know you'll be at it full throttle tomorrow! Go take a bubble bath! 🙂
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia 😉

  7. Marian, I am sorry you had a 'blah' day, but I am glad that you wrote a post about it…I love the way you always seem so real. You have an amazing talent that obviously not all of us are blessed with, but with all your talent, you seem so…normal 🙂

I hope that came out right, it was meant to be a compliment!

    xx Karen

  8. I just had that month. In fact I blogged today about the same thing, and gave the story behind my uninspired month. YOU on the other hand probably just ran out of energy. I have no doubt you will recharge much more quickly than I did! Good luck. Love your daily blogs. Lori L

  9. Miss Mustard Seed, you inspired me to share my wee little self with, well, so far, just me – check out these chairs I made my husband paint because Miss Mustard Seed, with kids in tow, manages to have a beautiful home with all kinds of GORGeous furniture and even more GORGeous ideas. 🙂 Thanks for sharing even when you aren't feeling inspired…'We all' think you're awesome!

  10. I know ive never left a comment at your blog before but I felt this urge to say that Ive had a pretty crummy day too. But reading all of the encouraging comments on your blog has given me hope for a better tomorrow. Things will get better soon and hopefully fashion as well! 🙂

  11. We all have those days….and its okay!! Tomorrow is a new day with new opportunity! Although you may feel uninspired today…remember that most days you provide inspiration to thousands of readers! Its ok to have an off day every now & then! Here's to wishing you a fabulous day tomorrow! Chin up!

  12. I hate clothes shopping. For that exact reason. It takes forever, and I don't wind up liking anything anyway! Bah!
On the plus side, I found your three pictures inspiring! Do you happen to know the name of the pattern of the silver in the second picture? I LOVE IT! I've been looking for a silver pattern I like but I haven't really found one yet, and there are so many to go through on replacements.com!! I started but oye! There are just too many! 🙂
Thanks for being inspiring even on a blah day!

  13. Your photos are lovely! But, I can't help noticing – the silverware! I have one iced tea spoon in that pattern and adore it. So lovely.

  14. I've had trouble shopping for clothes lately too! Wonder what it is? I find things I like, but non that I'm crazy about (that fit into my budget anyway!) – then I end up returning half of what I bought! haha

  15. Cant wait to see what your french chairs look like! Are they the bistro kind? Hope you feel more inspired tomorrow! Hey atleast you ran and did good on your diet!! Better than moi!lol.Hugs,Rachel

  16. Did you just say you did awesome on your diet?? Well that's something really good! Well done!
We all have uninspired days like that though, it'll pass. I'm sure you'll be on top form again soon!

  17. Marion,
Ispent three hours the other day clothes shopping too and only left with two things….that I may be taking back as well. I have been needing to lose 25 lbs. ever since my son was born 16 years ago. It's hard. Sometimes we have those days, but you are right, there is always tomorrow. Love your pics.

  18. I had one of those days yesterday too! Just couldn't get into anything but today is a new day!! Woot! This day will be better…I am sure! For you too!

  19. Clothes shopping can really suck eggs sometimes. Do you want to borrow my sister? She always helps me. Just let me know..JenT

  20. Eeekkk I just realized I am not an "official" follower!
I wonder how many other non official followers you have.

Today's a new day. Its gonna be a GOOD one!

  21. Congratulations on doing well with your diet. And I think we'd all be ok if you just took a day off from posting once in awhile. We understand.

  22. I had one of those days myself yesterday. The rain doesn't help. But it will get better. 🙂 Oh, and that silverware is lovely!

  23. Marian, don't those days seem to come sometimes? Yesterday, someone make a personal attack against me, completely ungrounded. It was a bad day.

Then, before I went to bed, I read this verse in Psalm 56, "This I know. God is for me." Wow! Today will be a better day for you! I can't wait to see those chairs.

PS Clothes shopping is a bear. I have discovered the good quality at Lands End, and it's usually the only place I go now.

  26. I am wondering what you consider a good price on furniture. I am not asking you to tell us specifics, but would you pay $50 for a chair? Do you spend $125 on a dresser? Where I live, I find that people put an "antique" price on anything that is "old." – Unless it is broken or worn out. Would you be willing to share some of your guidelines with us?

  27. After two kids I no longer have fun shopping. I thought I would a weeks ago because I had lost about 17 pounds but I still need to lose more to feel like my chest is more petite and less like two cantaloupes.
Anyway, love the photo of the spoons. And I hope you get to feeling better.

  28. Marian,
Good to know you're only human! You have been the energizer bunny of work, family, holidays, and goodness knows what else. It's nice to take a break occasionally. Relax and take a breath. 🙂

  29. You always amaze me with your energy and the amount of things you can get done in one day. I don't know how you do it! We all have blahh!! days. Any clothes shopping is definitely horrendous now, so you are not alone.

  30. Dont bother, images were fine. I have a similar period (not only 1 day!) right now, I guess we´ll have to struggle till it goes away!

    Good luck, love your blog!

    Helle

  31. You ARE human after all. With all of your talent, I was beginning to wonder. We all have a funky day now and then and just like the rest of us, you're entitled to just take a mental break when you need it. Said a little prayer for a wonderful rest of the week!

    Jami

    P.S. Even though you're human, I still think you're an angel. 🙂

  32. We all have days like that. It's okay. You don't have to worry about us. We'll always be here. 🙂
Are you looking for clothes for Blissdom? I am not shopping until this weekend and I dread it. I am so picky! 🙂
Can't wait to see you, girl!

  33. tomorrow will be better. and its ok to run out of inspiration sometimes. If you didnt- you might go crazy with all those ideas in your head trying to get out. Lack of inspiration is natures way of forcing you to take a little break. 🙂

  34. I hope you are having a better day today than yesterday! Kudos to you for exercising and dieting. You may feel uninspired, but your post has inspired me to make healthier choices in my own life! Take care…
