Today…

…I went to Wild Rose this morning to drop off a few things.
…I bought five French chairs, but I didn’t get to take a picture of them to share with you.
…I went clothes shopping for 4 1/2 hours and only bought three things.  I came home discouraged and it’s possible I’ll return what I bought.
…I ran, exercised and did awesome on my diet.
…I feel uninspired, tired and I have no idea what to write about.
…I’m just going to share a few photos, because that’s all I have to share.

Today…

…is almost over.
And tomorrow will be better.

  1. I don't know why I loved this post.. I guess it's because we all have those days & by you blogging about it, you made me feel normal, I had one of those days today as well.. I feel like you need a hug.. tomorrows another day! I hope it's a better one!!

    xx Liz Marie

  2. I had a very similar day, except when I was out buying things sell, I did it in my van with a broken air conditioner in 99 degree weather!

Found a few goodies, but prices were higher than I was comfortable with today.

Hope your arm feels better tomorrow!

  3. Ohhhh sweet friend ~ I have totally had a day like that today too ~ My house is a total tornado and it is driving me nuts! I have craft stuff everywhere, a dining table full of ASCP with projects and AHHHHHH!!! I have to be honest though that it is kind of nice to know that someone like you, who accomplishes amazing things in short amounts of time, feels this way too 🙂

Get some rest and start fresh in the morning 🙂

    xoxo

  4. Your husband was absolutely right. It is time to let go and rest. I hope you can allow yourself to do that. It is not only necessary, it is essential, and must be allowed.
    rest…

  5. I'm leaving on a mission trip to Africa in one day. Instead of painting & trying to 'get it all done', I just said, "my state of mind is worth it" and I've done nothing but hang with my family the past few days. Love the times like that……

  6. Smart husband! Listen to your body….I find it hard to believe you can keep up the pace you do. but you are much younger than I am. I am excited to see your newest purchases and finds! But take care of yourself!

  7. It's so nice to know that your work area is a disaster. I see these lovely staged homes and dispair. My home – I mean it seems like a storage place for projects completed and ready to sell. Also, half-finished projects and those projects that have been sitting there waiting, waiting for someone to notice that they have been there too long. Good to know that I am not the only one not BHG worthy.

  8. I hear ya sister!!! It seems that the to-do list never ends. I'm 39 weeks and 2 days pregnant and I'm nesting like mad and feel like I won'tbeabletogeteverythingdoneintimeandIcan'thelpbutfreakout. For crying out loud I cleaned the vacuum cleaner yesterday. Have a good night sleep. There's tomorrow!

  9. Thank you for being normal like the rest of us. lol.

Early to bed with the sweet husband and all will be well with the world tomorrow.

  10. I feel your pain… Last week I had more that a few days like this. Sometimes we just need to tell ourselves to take a break.. why.. because we desire it! On Sunday we got home from church, I told my husband I just need to take a short nap, I slept for four hours. But it did make me feel better. I hope you have a better tomorrow. (and remember it's ok to sneak in a nap!)

  11. God has many ways, sometimes subtle and sometimes a thump, to guide us. Here is to each of us hearing the "slow down it will all be ok if it is not done today" message!

  12. I feel badly for contributing to the chaos (with my email questions). Thanks for taking the time to answer it! Hope tomorrow is relaxing for you!

  13. i just blogged half-assedly about how losing my phone today put me into a funkity mood all day. sometimes it takes nothing to put one off of their game.
i am so sorry you are feeling under the weather. i sure hope that sleep will help out a lot, and by extension… you.
    xow.

  14. I quit trying Sunday after I stepped in my paint tray then spent the next hour cleaning up the mess. Your husband is right – get some rest! JenT

  15. I think many of us are with you on this…it's July, my most challenging month. Sweating is about all you can do some days! Resting now means you'll be rejuvenated tomorrow and off on some fresh projects.

  16. Something tells me that your house is not as messy as you think it is. You are an inspiration to me…….and you are normal!!

  17. I think we all have days like this. I know I have had several lately. Injured my back and just when I start feeling great I do something dumb like move a TV and opps there it goes again.

I do have to say I am getting a bit more crafting accomplished than normal though since I can not do that much.

  18. Do you take magnesium? You can get it in the vitamin aisle. Since you're eating healthy you might have too much calcium (causes cramping). The magnesium can balance that and relax your muscles. This was a tip I had gotten from my chiropractor a few years ago. That was so sweet of your hubby 🙂

  19. Wow, girl, I got tired just reading that! In true Miss Mustard Seed fashion, I'm sure today will be a great and productive day.

  20. You are sooo adorable even amidst your chaos!! Utter charm, that's what you have!!!!

That being said….I still just lifted you up in prayer for healing/peace.

    You ROCK!!!

We're all selfish and wanna keep you healthy so we can continue to be inspired by you!!!

    Hugs/blessings,

  21. [starts to skip around on tip toes while slinging her arms around and starts to sing] tttoooomorrow….tomorrow…the sun 'll come out tomorrow!! Keep your head up 🙂

  22. I'm glad to know that others have crazy schedules to. We just finished a 3 week mid-west tour of family (7 states in 3 weeks), had windows installed in our house so pictures, blinds, and curtains are piled on the dining table, our booth all of a sudden decided to sell everything in sight, …so much we got a phone call from the mall telling us it was empty,a washer that decided to break (repair man coming Thurs and 2 weeks of laundry to do from our mid-west tour, we managed to get one week done in between), our "real work" schedules and a 2 year old. AGHH! Good to know I am not ALONE! Rest up….when I get a moment….I might join you! 🙂

  23. Hang in there Miss MS. If you don't take care of yourself you can't take care of anyone else. It's a hard concept for mothers but it's true. Sounds like you have a nice husband. Haven't work out clothes come a long way? Some are almost too cute to get all sweaty. :o)

  24. Sounds like a good day. You are just having after vacation lag. Looks like you found some joy despite the aches and pains and time limitations of life.

  25. Enjoy the rest, the sweet husband, and relish in the fact that you did all of those things. And remained sane. Maybe not in one piece but you still have your humor:)

Hope you get to feeling well soon.

  26. I've had days like that. I'm having one now but there is just too much work to do. When you are feeling rested can you post something about how to use the milk paint you suggested. I bought it and want to redo a really neat chair but I'm not sure how to use it. For now, get some rest, relax and enjoy. You deserve it.

  27. i get it. and despite the lows i think there is still a lot to celebrate. i always love to crawl into bed when i'm physically exhausted (am i a masochist?) because that's a GOOD exhaustion from a fruitful day. i'm looking for time to workout but it's eluding me which is why there are several cute yoga outfits hanging in the closet with tags.

  28. Hang in there kiddo…you're the bomb, rest as needed. You deserve it!
Trust we will be here! It is all good.

  29. By the way precious…after reading your post, I totally relate…just unloaded the dishwasher and found a paint brush…all I can tell is that has never happened before…must be something in the air. Take the day…take all you need. Sheesh!
    ~Pam

  30. I can so totally relate in many of your day's "situations." My craft room is an accident waiting to happen, also with no dead animals or other nasties, but it's like working in the underworld up there after 11:00 a.m.

As much as we all love to see your amazing work, I'm sure it comes out much better for you when you're well rested, so take it easy – sometimes it's harder to get back into the swing of things after a vacation than if you never took one at all.

  31. Hey, take a breather, the world won't end if you don't get all on your to-do list done. Make priorities, ask yourself if this or that will really matter in 2 weeks, 6 mos, etc.

Hang in there girl, we love ya, but in the end, you gotta love yourself and your family first. We'll stand by. 🙂

    Norma O.

  32. I've had the same thing going on. Although I don't dabble in furniture I do papercrafting and have my spare bedroom totally loaded with machines, embossing folders, cartridges and lets not forget the paper. Oh, and did I mention my husbands niece and my kids are coming in for visits throughout the week. Stayed up all last night trying to organize and get it out of the way of the grandchildren. Finally done though, now I want to get it all out and play.Lol go figure.

  33. I had to laugh when I read this post and saw your comment about your office floor looking like something from an episode of Hoarders. This is a show I watch often and every time I do – I have to go clean something – throw something out – or load it up to donate! :o]

  34. I've so been there, too! Overwhelmed by it all and I always think, "Is this what God intended?" and how can I do it differently so I don't feel that way. I'm still not sure of the answer and I'm way older than you! Just keep swimming…

  35. Marian,
Bless your heart…what a smart and dear hubby. Your house will get clean, you will get through some of the work ahead and you'll still have time to blog after a good nights rest.
    Take it easy.
    Karen

  36. I'm glad you hit the sack early! We can all wait to hear what you are working on…Promise!! Give your kids a hug and catch up on your house, then come back to us. We'll wait! p.s. I love that you are starting a new healthy lifestyle/fitness habit 🙂 I'm a personal trainer/wanna be DIY'er and I always love to hear when people decide to take care of themselves in a healthy way.

  37. I love this post! I think you took a peek at my life! 😉
Lucky to have a sweet husband, and I thought I got the last one! lol

  38. Thank God for the hubby..Rest..Tomorrow is another day..Sounds like ya found a lot of nice things..Can't wait to see everything..And by the way..Loved the post..
    Janet

  39. I am happy to hear that I am not the only one who has these funky days! I understand how you feel overwhelmed and my office looks worse than yours!! Does that make you feel better? LOL! I love everything that you do, I am a relatively new follower and am always anxious to see what you are up to next! I am also a blogger and love, love, love junking! I love the cupboard you just purchased, love the color!

  40. Boy can I relate to your day!!! When my house is a disaster and my craft area is a mess I always feel over whelmed. Usually, the best cure is sleep.

    Thanks for keeping it real!!

  41. I can relate. I know that overwhelmed feeling. And your husband was right. You needed some well deserved sleep. So now you begin again refreshed.
And don't regret for one minute not bloging. You'll get to it. We can wait.
