As I was getting ready for Lucketts, I pulled a lot of pieces from my house and studio and I felt like I was digging deep.  Well, now that we’re in the thick of packing and planning our move, I realized I want to unload more.  Each piece has to be moved and stored and if someone in our family isn’t 100% in love with it, we should just sell it and buy something else once we’re settled.

I know that part of the fun of a new space is finding the perfect things for it, so I’m going to give myself the chance to do that.  I realize we’ll have some holes to fill wherever we land, but we have one table to eat at, plenty of dishes, beds, and a sofa, so we’ll be set.

So, here are a few more pieces I’ve decided to sell (for local pick-up only) –

The antique French Provincial buffet in my dining room…

I couldn’t find a straight-on picture of it, but you get the idea!  It’s painted in MMS Milk Paint Linen & Bergere.  It has a bow front, the original hardware and the center drawer is lined and divided for silver.  It’s sturdy and all of the drawers work well.

I’m selling it for $325.  (This piece is spoken for.)

We’re also selling this French provincial chest on chest.  It is a really beautiful piece of furniture that is solid, heavy, and all of the drawers work perfectly.

The dresser is $285.

And this dress form is up on the block as well.  I’m selling it for $150.

I’m sure I’ll decide to sell more, but those are the pieces I’m sure about for now!  If you’re interested in purchasing them, just send me an e-mail at marian@missmustardseed.com

I’ll make a note when they are sold.

Also, if you are local, I’m listing items in the Harrisburg, PA craigslist.  We currently have lumber, a work table, and a window A/C unit listed, but we’ll be listing more, like 10 x 10 canopy tents, some tools, etc.

I just listed the 4 month old 9 x 12 wool hooked rug from our bedroom (that listing is HERE)…

…and two antique cement garden containers.  That listing is HERE.

And, we’re having a yard sale/final studio sale June 23-24 (Friday & Saturday).  I don’t have the hours set, but look for more details on the blog.  I’m selling typical yard sale stuff…household items, some furniture, clothes, toys, books, but also some antiques and Lucketts leftovers that are too bulky to list and ship.  Everything will be priced to sell and things will be FREE after noon on Saturday of the sale.

For my online shoppers, I have listed Lucketts leftovers in my online shop that are easy to throw into an envelope and ship.  That includes German brushes (dish brushes, flower pot brushes, veggie brushes)…

…also twine and garden scissors.  Signed copies of my new book, the Home Design Doodle Book…

…and lots of flatware lots leftover from my “silverware bar”.

You can find all of the listings here

Wow. Marion, where I live the pieces you are showing here would be 2-3 times what you are asking, without the MMS touch. I realize you are looking to sell them, I once sold a couch and love seat at a garage sale for $100 because the $100 bill fit in my pocket and the furniture didn’t, so your prices are probably lower than normal but it’s been eye opening to see the difference in price. Best of luck with your move and all the prep/packing.

Hi Marion. The pieces you are selling are beautiful. I was wonder about the color of the Chest on Chest you are sellingselling for $285. Do you mind sharing this info?

    3. Deborah

Hi Marion, If the chest ends up not selling for the $325. can you please let me know? I would be interested in buying it, Thanks!

If only the dress form was easy to put in an envelope and ship to Alaska… ? I hope all your stuff finds homes where it is loved and appreciated!! I’m excited to hear about how your journey unfolds. ❤️ Cheryl

Wow…those prices are way low for Southern California. Plus in California, you would be hard pressed to find this style of furntiure replacement. And if you did it would cost more than your PA selling prices. Guess you’re not considering a move across the country if you intend to keep your business lucrative. Good luck with the purge and move. Keep smiling and keep posting.

I was looking at this. Thinking. I hope she isn’t selling to much. Keeping enough so “your home” so it does move with you. So you have something familiar. And then is saw the cement planter photo and thought. OH NO!!!! She’s selling the dog!!!!!!!!
I regained my thoughts. How funny!!!!!

      • Marian Parsons

Oh, no! Not Sebastian! How funny. 🙂 Actually, someone who bought our grill from craigslist really wanted to buy him, but we said no. He moves with the family.

    7. Patricia

I’m finding I am anxious about all you are selling! You may find that other parts of the country do not have your sweet style at the same prices you enjoy now and in abundance. And I would think a lot of churches would pay for your move. Just saying, if you don’t know where you are moving you may want to keep more of your things.

      • Marian Parsons

I’m really at peace about it! We have an idea where we might be moving, but it’s not 100% certain, yet. I’ve checked out the craigslist and antique scene in the area and I know I can find things at prices that are good. Also, my parents will still live in PA, so I can visit, shop, and rent a truck, if needed! The point is that I don’t want to haul a bunch of stuff that may or may not work in a new place. I’ll enjoy hunting for the perfect pieces and there is a real freedom in letting go of things.

        • Patricia

OK, I will let it go! I already know how much I will enjoy watching you create your new home, wherever it may be.

        • Jan M Brunette-Hunyady

Just a heads up. You will rarely find ironstone for sale in Michigan and if you do it is all white restaurant ware. Your real estate agent will probably not mention that fact….LOL Actually we have very little cool antiques. The pieces that you do find a very pricey.

Good luck with your move. I do not like moving. That is why I stayed in my last house 27 years before we moved and then I had to practically drag my husband out of that house.

    8. Maggie Yavorsky

Why are you moving? Did I miss something on your blog? Your the first blogger I’ve lived close enough to that if I needed to pick a big piece of furniture up I just purchased I could. So what happened?

      • Marian Parsons

Search for a post titled “onward” and it explains it all. In a nutshell, my husband has been working towards his Master’s degree and now that he is finished, he’s going to take a full-time job (he’s been a full-time student and part-time associate pastor.) Since I can do my job from almost anywhere, we are going to move where his new position is. We don’t know 100% where that is, yet, but we should know in a few weeks. 🙂

    9. Maggie Yavorsky

Keeping an eye out for your beautiful things on craigslist. Thanks for sharing. I’m still sad your moving though.

    10. Karen

Selfishly, I hope you move to Southwest Missouri! (SMILE) My husband and I just bought a small lake home in preparation for retirement. We had a very large estate sale and sold all of our collections and many of our larger antique furniture pieces. It has been the most ‘freeing’ thing we have ever done. And… I am having a blast finding new (old) pieces that are perfect for our new living space. Blessings to your and your family on this new chapter in your lives!

    11. Sarah

Stuff is stuff, let it go. As a Mom of grown children, I know watching your kids move away is not as easy. But, there is joy in their new jobs and life changes. God’s best to all of you.

    12. Beverly Ebersole

Where will your yard sale be held? I live in York, PA

    13. Debra

I’m interested in the brushes. You have pot ones dish ones and veggie ones. I also saw other ones but couldn’t tell what they looked like. Can you show one of each and how much there going for? Thank you Debbie

    14. Shirley Housepitality

Good luck on your sales. I have moved many times and sometimes you just have to weigh the fact of how much it costs to move something and sometimes storing them vs. getting a new item. I am dealing with that now as we plan to build our “right-sized” home.

    15. Colette J.

Oh how I wish I lived closer. Your stuff is swoon-worthy.
Good luck with everything. Looking forward to watching your new adventures.
BTW, Virginia is beautiful (hint, hint) 😉 xx

    16. Cynthia

I have been in love with your antique French provincial buffet since I first saw it on your blog. I’ve hunted the Scotts Antique market for one but, alas, no luck. When I saw how reasonable you are selling it for, along with the other gorgeous pieces, I almost sent you a message & rented a truck. I know it’s been spoken for so I guess my search will continue

    17. Kay G.

Hi Marian!! Is the dress form still for sale??

    18. MaryLisa Noyes

I love the dress form and purchased one after seeing yours. Hope it finds a wonderful home. You are doing the RIGHT thing. I moved to my cottage 5 years ago this month and after the expense of movers, I’ve practically replaced everything because they don’t fit here. You WILL find things and even if they cost more, the fun and right fit for your home will be worth it.

    19. Jackie Thornton

Hi Marion, I love reading your blog and find your style is very much like my own. I love the cutlery that you are selling and wondered what the pricing is on the set with the bone/bakealite? handles are? I have a small collection and would love to add to it to display in my new kitchen remodel. Good luck on your new adventure. Wish I lived closer so I could purchase some of the larger pieces.
