I’m baaa-ack!!!  An awesome part of moving back to the east coast is that I can be a part of the Lucketts Market again!  And, this year, they have the Lucketts Fall Market, which is coming up on October 14-16, 2022.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a long time, then you know Lucketts is a pretty important part of my story.  It was one of my favorite antique stores when I was a newlywed living just down the road in Leesburg, VA.  I saved my money for the Lucketts Spring Market each year so that I could buy a few special pieces for my house.  The first market I went to as a vendor was Lucketts, in a little 10 x 10 pop-up tent.  Lucketts is an amazing creative community that brought me in, took me under their wings, and cheered me on as my business and blog grew.  I became a supplier to the store, then a vendor, and Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint was launched in their front room.  And I even got my own sign at the Lucketts Spring Market in 2017.

Lucketts a huge part of my story and I’m so excited to reunite with some of my old antiquing buddies, mentors, and superstars, and to meet new ones that have started participating in the Market over the past five years.

I won’t be attending the Lucketts Fall Market as a vendor because I have my hands full with moving into a new house and renovations, but I will take a day to attend as a shopper.  I do need some special pieces for my house and I know I will have a good chance of finding at least one piece on my wish list there.

You can follow the Lucketts Store Instagram for details on vendors who are attending, pieces that are being prepped, updates, and a countdown to get you geared up.

I will be attending on Friday, the VIP day, and I will take lots of pictures and share the event in real-time on my Instagram Stories.

I haven’t attended the event as a shopper in years.  My shopping typically happened when things slowed down at the end of the event, so I’d get some bargains, but I never got first pick of the statement pieces.  I’m hoping to find a very special antique cabinet to use as a storage piece in my studio.  I have the hardware cabinet, but I sold almost all of my other studio furniture, so I need lots of little drawers for art supplies and some great display space for my antique art boxes and palettes.  I’m also hoping to find a work table, some side tables, and a couple of small dressers to use as nightstands.

I’m going to try my best to stay away from picking up too many small things.  We mostly moved smalls and books and now I need places to put everything.  So, my mom and I will be heading out with notes of what I need, a measuring tape, and comfortable shoes.  My dad will be on standby in Gettysburg to come in a rental truck if we find a huge piece (or two) and can’t have them delivered.  I hope I’ll come home triumphant!  At the very, very least, I know I’ll leave the event feeling inspired and my creative cup will be brimming.  It’s just an unavoidable side effect of going to a Lucketts event.

Will you be attending the Lucketts Fall Market?  It’s not too late to buy tickets if you’re local or you want to make the drive.   I might still be hobbling around in an orthopedic boot, but I’ll be there!

I went to Luckett’s Fall Market last year. It was my first time and I was a little overwhelmed and unprepared. I did, however, get inspired by all the beautiful and creative items and came home with a few smaller things. I can’t make it this year, but hope to go again. Comfortable walking shoes are definitely a priority!

I follow Lucketts on Insta and love the ‘vibe’ of it. There are def some very astute decorators selling there. I live in NH, but hope to visit the seasonal market one day. Enjoy it all, Marian!

You all might like to check out Amanda’s Mercantile. She has been a Luckett’s vendor for a few years and on her Youtube site she said she was inspired by Marian and loves her style. So check out her booth–I believe she will be there this year.

      • Marian Parsons

Yes! She started selling a year or two before I moved and I have met her. It’s been so fun to watch her business grow. She is super talented.

    12. Mary

I haven’t been in years to the Lucketts market. Last time my BFF and I went and spent the entire day there. Even bought a Miss Mustard Seed T shirt (I wore it yesterday!!!). Shortly after that my BFF was diagnosed with cancer and passed before the next one. We have since moved to lower, slower Delaware but I so miss Lucketts and Colorfest in Thurmond MD. That was also an every year trip.

Have a blast and I hope you find all sorts of treasures

      Hi Marian,
We live in the Rockville- Potomac area and after reading your blog, my daughter told me that she had heard of Luckett’s market and she would like to go and also her daughter is interested in going, so looks like we will be attending! Thank you for the info and I wish you happy shopping. Enjoy!!

    16. Barbara

I met you at the spring Luckett’s many years ago when it was held on the store property. So much fun! I’ve gone a few more times and attended once when they moved it to the fairgrounds. Fun seeing you again that time. I’m heading back but probably will go on Sunday.
As a side note, it was fun seeing myself in a few of the bloggers pictures that were posted during the market. That’s a bit cool! Hope you find all the things you are looking for!!! Blessings!

    17. Rita

I’ve never been to Lucketts or Brimfield. Would love to attend one day. I am attending the Southern Charm on the Farm vendor market in Illinois this weekend. I’m going to be in the area, so I’m looking forward to it. I have no list, so it will be mostly browzing and see what catches my eye. Have a great weekend.

    18. Teresa

I wondered if you would be attending the Lucketts Fall Market this year since you were back living nearby. I have been several times and always score a great find. Hope to see you there!

    19. Wendy York

How fun Marian! I’m excited about watching what you share that day too! I’ve been following you since back in those early days. Hope you find what you are looking for ?

    20. MARY-ANN (FROM CANADA!)

Hope you and your Mom have a fun time! It will be interesting to see what you find, Marian! I’m sure you will be able to cross a lot of items off your list! So good you are going early.

I have never been to Luckett’s but it would sure be fun to go! We winter on South Padre Island but don’t go down until the end of October. Maybe I can get hubby to go earlier next year!

Enjoy your shopping and take care of that ankle!

    21. JC
