Here’s the reveal on the pedestal I made yesterday. Oh, I can’t wait to refinish my orange speckled dining room table. All of my clients and retail spaces are keeping me way to busy for that!
Anyway, I simply used some super glue to affix a silver candlestick to a small plate. I’ve had these two pieces for sale on their own, but they really weren’t special and they weren’t selling. Putting them together makes them special.
If you’re making one of these, give the glue plenty of time to cure.
The glass cloche just happened to fit perfectly and I love it! I’m tempted to keep it, but I won’t. I can always make another one down the road.
I spent the afternoon with a friend at the Apple Harvest Festival. I live in orchard country, so it’s a huge deal and I’ve never been before. I did find a few antiques among all of the crafts and junk food. I witness scrapple being made (gross) and ate apple pie ice cream and sweet potato fries. I forgot my camera, though!! Oh well, you’re not missing much.
I’m off to play with my boys and watch the Redskins lose to the Packers…probably.

PS – Dear, Redskins. I’m sorry for having so little faith. Thanks for giving me a heart attack, but pulling out the win in OT.

Love it. I have a candlestick and plate that will work perfectly. Great idea. Hugs, Marty
Simple and elegant…my favorite kind of project! 🙂

Simple idea with lovely results. I have two sterling candlestick holders that my son was clanking together like cymbals not so long ago. Now their all dented and miserable…maybe I'll glue a plate to those and give them new life. I need the right plates though. {Love} as usual.

Jami
Loving the new header, too!
Love the silver! I've been making a few of these myself for the upcoming holiday. ;o) They're turning way cute. Hope to blog about them this coming week. Your cloche is perfect for it too!
Cuute!
And the redskins WON!! Can you believe it!! My husband is a Packer's fan so I am really giving it to him!! He always calls the redskins "the worse team in the world" BAH HAHAHA
My favorite part is that we can see the reflection of you and the bottle of gorilla glue in the candlestick. Very cute! I hope you enjoyed your apple harvest festival. Lisa~
Hurray the Skins beat the Pack! (Vikings fan here.) Oh, and a beautiful candlestick repurpose, too!
Love it!!
That must be like Tulip Time here, not sure the big hub bub about it but people come from ALL over for parades and to take pictures of tulips! At least the junk food is yummy!! 🙂
Oh and the Bears won again today! 😉
Love this. So simple, but elegant. Where are you finding your stash of cloches?
I love this in silver. I must find myself a plate and a candlestick to do the same with. This looks so elegant.
Wow what a great idea you had there! I love it.
Hugs XX

Ditto on where to find a stash of cloches. The only ones I see down here in the deep South are quite expensive…..but I love your pedestal AND your cloche! Thanks for sharing your great ideas!
Marian- This is a great idea! I just need to find some cloches! Thanks for sharing!
Tammy 🙂
simply pretty!
Okay, the post was pretty but what really got me is the funny ~ hubby asked me if I'd heard if Skins won and I said no, "Dora" (all that's been on last 1/2 hr) hadn't told me… Then later I tell him YOUR BLOG says Skins WON! THANKS! He's EXTRA happy to meet you now! 😉
Cya Thurs!!!!

This turned out beautifully. I love it! Have a great week.
God Bless,

Consider this idea stolen. I've already been putting pine cones under various cloche-like items on most flat surfaces in my house. My daughter is tired of my incessant demands for "more pine cones!"
Pretty darn snazzy! LOVE it!
m ^..^
Cute idea, and I love the single pine cone displayed under the cloche.
I know you don't need to, but I would LOVE and be so honoured if you link this up to my party today,…read why here http://dthatssewme.blogspot.com/2010/10/will-you-rsvp.html
Such a beautiful cloche!!! I have some old glass plates…I just need some candle sticks and glass cloches. I have to go shopping with you!!! Ha!

This is sooo pretty! I have several brass candlesticks that I am tired of, just wondering if you have ever painted brass to silver and liked the results? I'm just trying to use up what I already have instead of buying more stuff!
I love what you have created there, and I would love to make one, but I cannot find a large cloche anywhere, so I can't be bothered to do it.
Hugs, Cindy
It looks like all of those pieces were meant for one another. Very nice.
Those are perfect for each other! Love the look now. Isn't it great when things just come together like that? I grew up in PA, so scrapple is no surprise to me, but I don't think I'd like watching it be made either!
Love this and love that I found your darling blog.

Marian- was the Apple Harvest festival near you? I know they have one in Martinsburg, WV just wondering.
