New Stuff

As always, I’ve been busy working on a little bit of everything.  Mainly, I’ve been working on projects for my space at Wild Rose.  I’m delivering a van and a truck load of all sorts of things tomorrow…signs, accessories, a really cool antique dolly, a china cabinet, a huge sheet music wreath and more.  Here’s a look at some of the new goodies…
I made a hanging “treats” bin out of a chicken feeder.  I cleaned it, sprayed it with satin poly and it’s ready to fill with wrapped candy and sheet music cones.  (Obviously, this is not food safe, so it shouldn’t be used for loose candy).  The letters are magnetic, so you can make it anything you want it to be.
I made a bunch of vintage sheet music cones that can be filled with candy for the holidays.

A yard sale bird is nestled in vintage book pages that were run through a shredder.  (Look away, book lovers!  Oh, the carnage!)

I have a ton of new German glass glittered letters…

…and a few butterflies.  By the way, I’m going to teach a workshop on how to make the letters in Walkersville, MD on Saturday, October 23 from 11-2.  More details to come, but let me know if you’re interested!  The class number is limited.  The cost will include supplies to make your own set of letters and a yummy lunch catered by The Corner Bakery.
Above are my Goodwill finials…now painted and pretty.

I used some of my vintage sheet music to cover a large “M.”  I think this would look so cool sitting on a piano.  And aren’t these buggy wheels neat?  They’re a quirky, yet subtle addition to an arrangement.

There’s lots more to see!  I’m moving it all into the shop tomorrow and I’ll take lots of photos.

  1. As always, just beautiful. I saw some chipboard letters at Tues. morning, I may have some glittery letters soon. AND, I saw that exact bird at my GW and didn't buy it. I might go back and see how my karma is. You go girl–continued success to you, your creativity just keeps on flowing.

  2. I bet your space looks fantastic. I love the vintage music M! That is wonderful. And, I spot another bird! He's charming. Thank you also for your post the other night on blogging. Very helpful. Good info and tips. Much appreciated!

  6. I'll bet your shop just looks fabulous! I love those finals, but I wouldn't even know what to do with them. If you ever want to design a French inspired W, please keep me in mind *wink* lol

  7. Seriously, do you ever sleep? Everything you create seems so effortless but is always so darn wonderful! I'm in awe! Your next tip installment needs to be 'how I get so much done'!

  8. Ohhh! An antique dolly!! Chicken feeders! (I have never seen one in person) Sheet music. Buggy wheels, I have two, need a third or fourth. Finials! In New York City we used to call those Object (ob jay )- short for object d'arte. I guess I should make a detour to come and visit your store. What are the hours? I can't believe that you fixed up enough stuff in two weeks to fill a truck. Love it. Ann

  9. Ann, The hours are Tues-Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 11-3. I hope can come by sometime. It's a wonderful place and worth the trip. There's another awesome sale down the road on October 14-16, Chartreuse & Co. It's more of the same thing and would make the trip even better! Sned me an e-mail directly if you want more info!

  10. Where did you get the "M"? I have a piano that could use an "L" 🙂
JoAnn's only has the plain block letters.
    Also, how big is it?
And…what kind of glitter do you use? (is it super fine like the Martha Stewart kind or more "regular"?)
