Surface design is something I’ve played with on and off for a few years and this year, I decided to lean into that interest and create some new patterns for wrapping papers as well as other available products on Society6. While only one is specifically designed for Winter/Christmas, I feel like these designs work well year-round, including for Christmas. (Products are up to 50% off at Society6 for their Black Friday event.)
I love Society6’s wrapping paper. It comes in five sheets that are generously-sized, so they will cover most mid-sized and small gifts. The paper is thick, but not too thick, has a matte finish, and a grid on the back so you can make straight cuts. I only wish you could also order it on rolls for larger presents, but it is very high quality and definitely a favorite.

I’m so excited about the polka-dots (in green & cream/blue) and buffalo checks (in blue and green)!

The Christmas/Winter design is a hand-drawn juniper. One of my neighbors has a fantastic juniper bush that I trimmed a sprig from and used it to create this design. You can find two versions of the Juniper Sprigs paper HERE and HERE.

Of course, I focused the color palette on blues and greens, but I threw in a beautiful, muted terra cotta color, too. You can order this color in several patterns…

The rest of the papers are hand-drawn florals in a few different styles…

The paper above is my mustard seed flower logo.

Some of the designs are variations of prints I made for my second quilting fabric line several years ago. The collection was never launched, so it was fun to dust off and reinvent these patterns in new color ways and scales.

I have found over the years that I shop for most of my Christmas wrapping paper in the non-holiday paper section simply because I like the colors better and it’s nice having a stash of seasonal-neutral papers. I can make them look more Christmasy or Birthday-ish or suitable for a wedding or baby shower based on the ribbons and tags I select.
In addition to papers, these designs are available on tons of Society6 products from wallpaper and bedding to iPhone cases and zipper pouches. I also uploaded some of my still life an animal paintings from this year. You can find all of my Society products and designs HERE. And, for Black Friday, you can get up to 50% off!

I’ve already been working on some more designs to release in the new year. Maybe one day I’ll get into fabrics again, but for now, creating these designs for Society6 is an easy way to continue to develop my pattern design skills!

I love your designs; the simple and effective colours in the muted colours.
I stopped purchasing Christmas themed wrapping paper years ago. I live in a small house so I have limited storage. If I can’t use it for all occasions (except for children ) I don’t purchase it. Your designs are perfect.
Love, love love that entire collection! The colours are perfect!
Gorgeous!
Yes would love to see these great designs and colors in FABRIC ! I love to sew and always looking for interesting fabrics ! Spoonflower is a great source !
I would love to as well! I have gotten samples from Spoonflower and didn’t love the quality, but maybe I’ll revisit it.
Such a lovely collection, the new papers and prints are so inspiring! I appreciate how each piece feels thoughtful and full of character. Thanks for sharing these beautiful finds!
