My Favorites & A Winner!

I know I’ve been saying every week how difficult it is to pick my favorites, but this week was crazy! By the time I looked through 6 of the links, I had 4 favorites! Well, I had to pick, so here it goes!

Sarah from A Beach Cottage scored the most wonderful vintage First Aid box. I am really drawn to pieces like this that were once utilitarian and are now elevated to display pieces. If you haven’t seen her blog, you much check it out. She has a beautiful, breezy style and takes the best pictures.

Donna from Funky Junk Interior’s aluminum backed armoire. This girl is crazy handy with tools and she knows how to put that handiness to good use. The rusted corrugated aluminum adds so much texture and interest to this piece and her eye for display is inspiring. Well done, Donna.

Quiet Footstep’s 2 tiered table makeover. There are a few reasons why I picked this as one of my favorites. First of all, this is her first furniture makeover! Not bad, huh? Second, she picked a piece that was very dated. I would’ve passed this piece up, not being able to see beyond the lines of it. She picked a black paint and dark walnut finish to downplay the dated look of the piece and elevate it to something current and sophisticated. Well done!

Shari from Poplar Porch’s desk makeover. This started out as a rustic looking pine desk. Her paint job really showed off the classic lines of this desk. I’ve painted a cubby hole desk before and it is not a fun job. This project shows a good eye, creativity, and patience.

Get Your Martha On’s
quilted ottoman cover. Can you believe she purchased this fabric at Wal-Mart? I’m telling you, there’s good stuff if you’re willing to get beyond some of the tacky, fuzzy, shiny yardage. The way she used it on this piece was perfect and I love the color and finish on the legs.

And the winner of the embroidered owl by The Seasoned Homemaker is…
Heather from Fresh Poppy Designs’ crib and nursery makeover. If you like all things frilly, feminine, and sweet, you will love this nursery. Not only is it adorable, but it is 100% home made. They spray painted the crib and chandelier in a pretty pink, fully embracing the girlishness of this room. And Heather made the canopy out of a hula hoop and leftover fabric! Don’t you love her use of trim and wallpaper? Apparently there was a great deal of cursing that came along with it, but the results are so worth it. It was a family project that took several months and it turned out gorgeous. You can tell a lot of love was put into this little one’s room. Nice job & congratulations!
One more note, The Gates Family from The Nest Diaries linked up a great kitchen makeover to the party and the link didn’t function properly. They have done a wonderful job, so click here to check it out.
Today is the last day to enter the Frog Tape Giveaway, so don’t miss out. Also, get your projects ready for next week’s FFF. It has been so much fun hosting this party!
