Furniture Feature Friday – Updates & a Link Party

Well, that stinks. I went to pick my favorites from last week’s FFF and the thumbnails aren’t working. It’s just a bunch of red x’s. There was a time, before the day of linky thumbnails, when I would click through each link and leave comments and choose my favorites that way. Unfortunately, I just don’t have the time to do that anymore. So, no thumbnails = no favorites. Major bummer.

Since I can’t share my favorites, I thought I would share some odds and ends. First of all, I have been working on a new WordPress site with my amazing designer, Marina from Penny Lane Designs. We’re going to make the switch any day now. We’re just getting a few more ducks in a row. You can check it out here. If you currently subscribe to my blog, the transition should be seamless. You do not need to resubscribe and I can take all of my Google Friends with me. If you go to my blogger blog after the switch, it will forward you automatically to the new one.

My new site looks very similar, but you’ll notice some functional and design changes. I have a nifty slide show sharing my recent posts, new portfolio page, a page that links to all of my hgtv.com articles and more. Leaving comments should be easier and I can leave replies to your comments, which I’m really excited about. I’ll give you notice the day before the big move…just in case something funky happens.

I’ve also had a lot of e-mail asking if I am going to offer my ornaments up for sale for those who can’t make it to Lucketts. The answer is…I’m going to try! The idea of producing more ornaments and boxing them all and shipping them is a little overwhelming to me, but I know some of you really want one (or more), so I want to try to make it happen. I’ll keep you posted on that.

I was planning to go to Lucketts today to refill my space, but I felt terrible when I woke up. There was no way I could handle a day of driving and unloading furniture and “fluffing” my space. So, I stayed home and played with my Silhouette Cameo and took process photos of my husband building a shelf for Cottages and Bungalows. I also just lounged in bed for a few hours, so it was good. Since I didn’t go today, I’m going to Lucketts on Saturday. If you’re shopping there this weekend, my room will be full and you may even catch me there!

Hopefully the thumbnails tonight show up! I want to see what you all have been up to this week…

Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…

1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.

2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.

3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF.

  6. I am so excited that you are considering offering your ornaments for sale to those of us who are far away. My friends and I all love your site and I just want a Mustard Seed ornament so bad for my tree. I know we're a lot of trouble but you know we're worth it. Ha! It will just be one more thing to add to your never-ending TO DO List.
