Furniture Feature Friday | no. 1

Welcome to our first Furniture Feature Friday 2.0, number 1!  Yay!  I can’t tell you how glad I am that I brought this back in a new format. I found so much inspiration and new furniture-loving-friends to follow.  I know a few of you were bummed that Furniture Feature Friday is taking place on Instagram, but it’s really much easier than requiring someone to have a blog to enter.  Getting an Instagram account is free and very simple!

If you don’t have an Instagram account, you can still browse through this week’s entries from your computer, tablet, or mobile device by following THIS LINK.

Now, for favorites…

I couldn’t even begin to pick and showcase all of my favorites, because there were so many.  Seriously.  There were awesome antiques, makeovers, upholstered pieces, recent finds, and on and on and so many were soooooo good.

So, I just picked a few favorites and I encourage you to look through the hashtag yourself (just by searching #furniturefeaturefriday on Instagram or following the link above) to find your favorites.

First up, I love everything about this piece shared by @cloverylycottage.  It’s not just the piece of furniture, but the ironstone, the trim, the wall color, that door!! Everything from tip to toe is beautiful.

I had the chance to meet Amanda of @uglyducklingdecor at Lucketts and she is so talented!  And these antique chairs she reupholstered really caught my eye.  The patina on the frames is so pretty and the informal ticking just works.

I’ve been really into antique European pine lately, so this pine desk from @refinddecorco was an easy favorite.  It’s just one of those pieces that doesn’t need anything added to it.  I love the knobs and the chunky legs.

I was so excited to find this new-to-me Instagram account!  @lauridprins shared a hand-painted buffalo check dresser that is so cute and I love that she painted the darkest squares by hand for a loose look.  She’s also a talented artist and has a navy/white buffalo check dresser featured on her feed.

Lastly, I just love how pretty and simple this painted buffet is by @angelamariemade .  It’s just lovely and who wouldn’t want this in their home?

If you’d like to participate in this week’s Furniture Feature Friday party use #FurnitureFeatureFriday2, so we can find you and this week’s submissions don’t get mixed in with last week.  I’ll pick and share some favorites against next week!

  1. Thank you for keeping us updated on all your changes in your new home, absolutely beautiful. I am wondering if you will be at Lucketts Spring Market May 2018,I sure am praying you will be,you are mine and my group of friends favorite!

  2. Thanks for starting this Instagram party! I’ve found so many new people to follow. And it’s more social because you can easily view / engage with all participants. I would never have the time to look at every blog post if it was a traditional link party. Thanks again!

  3. Marian, it is such a thrill to be featured on your blog as well as on Instagram. Yours, was the first blog that I started reading about 5yrs ago and I was so inspired by your ironstone collection that I started my own collection about 2yrs ago. As a stay-at-home mom/wife, who loves to decorate but doesn’t have a blog or a business, and posts on Instagram just for fun, being recognized by someone whose style I admire & respect is greatly appreciated. Thank you!! Sincerely, Heidi @cloverlycottage

  4. I really like the clean lines of the Antique Brass Lamp. Would look great on my English campaign furniture.

  5. Enjoyed these featured furniture pieces! This is so random, but I noticed your lovely handbag in one of your pics this week. I have an obsession with leather! Can you share the brand with us? TY!

  6. I love your blog, always have.
But your is the least user friendly of the 5 I check every morning.
The photos of my other four favorite blogs load quickly. On your blog they are slow to load and sometimes they even get halfway and then restart. Im not sure why this is, not sure if you can do anything about it, and not sure if anyone else experiences this, but it sure detracts from the blogging experience. I would just assume it is me or my slow Mac Book, but the other 4 blogs I check regularly are fine. Just thought you’d want to know!

  7. It was so exciting to be featured on your Instagram post and then to be on your blog post was just the cherry on top. To have someone that you have been following for years notice your work gives me that extra boost to just keep plugging along. Thank you so much.

FYI: My family moved from outside Philadelphia when I was a teenager to MN. We still laugh about our first winter here. I look forward to seeing your stories about the cold winters.

  8. Thank you so much Marian for featuring my buffet as part of Furniture Feature Friday! Its totally made my week and I was so excited to be included on your blog and Instagram! I love following your blog and all your projects!
