furniture feature friday | favorites & link party

Furniture Feature Friday
Jeff and I just got back from a nice trip to Charlottesville, VA.  I’ll share more about that in another post, but it was a wonderful time.  Jeff took me to a few antique shops and gave me the chance to mill around.  It hit me again, as I would gasp at an antique table or chest of drawers, run my fingers over the aged, warm wood, and admire details like the hardware, keyholes and joints, how much I love old furniture.  I really do love it and am immediately drawn to it.  That is why I started this furniture party years ago… (I think it’s about four or five years running, now!) And it’s been so fun for me to connect with other furniture lovers out there.  I hope you feel the same way.
Here are my favorites from last week…
Marianne from Songbird did a beautiful job giving this farmhouse table a fresh coat of white paint.  I love how she mixes it with the modern chairs and ceiling fixture.

This buffet by the Shabulous Shop has such a beautiful muted finished and the distressing is perfect.

And lastly, this old chest by Rustic Boutique looks lovely in a fresh coat of warm yellow paint.  My favorite part is the mesh on the sides.  Such a unique, old piece and the new paint only adds to that instead of taking away.

Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!

  1. Charlottesville – horse country…and great antiques! Looking forward to hearing about your trip. Thanks for the party – it’s fun to be able to come to the party this time, instead of being the wallflower who just wishes to be part of the party!

  2. Marian, I follow you on Pinterest and have a question. How do I know when someone that I follow adds a new pin to there boards? Or add to your follow list? Thanks Becky

  3. Marian, Be aware that the advertisement for “Old house Chic” …is sooo absolutely ANNOYING with its constant “*flashing`*”. They really need to tone it down … it makes reading your blog quite difficult ! (sorry to be the one to say it, but it is harming your site)
