FURNITURE FEATURE FRIDAY | favorites & link party

It’s good to get back into the swing of things this week.  I started my workout routine again (P90x3) and have gotten back to work on a regular schedule.  I do still need to set out some new goals, new dates and projects, so I’m not aimless, but I feel like I’m out of the post-Lucketts slump.
Onto the favorites…there were some really beautiful pieces of furniture to pick from this week.  It’s hard to narrow it down to my self-imposed limit of three anyway, but it was doubly hard this week.  I hope you enjoy my favorites and I can’t wait to see what you have to share this week!
Melaine from My Sweet Savannah shows how you can recreate the “zinc” finish she used on this dresser.  I think the shape of this piece was perfect for a technique like this!
And I absolutely love this primitive yellow hutch by Kate at Heir & Space.  This is the kind of piece that doesn’t ever go out of style and the color she picked for it looks amazing.
This freshly finished kitchen is an amazing example of how good design and careful choices can make a really small space functional and beautiful.  I think Lydia from Pudel-design hit it out of the park with this one.

Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!

  1. Enjoy your website. I am redoing my sewing room and haven’t found a table to fit the space, for my sewing machine, so am going to keep looking, but in the mean time want to paint the sewing cabinet I have. I’m not sure what paint I should use. The cabinet is veneer with the front of it wood looking plastic. Thought if I painted it it would look better!! The walls of the room are painted a very wonderful beige!! There is a large black shelf unit, great for organizing my crafts and a large white cabinet for my fabrics., want to distress it, actually I am open to any ideas just not sure of type of paint, etc. thank you for any help you can give and of course I’m off today so want to get er done!

  2. What a wonderful surprise when I got my mail this morning – there in the pile was my Fall issue of Romantic Country and I was so amazed and proud to see your dining room on the cover!!! So fabulous, I just had to comment!

The stain on the dresser is amazing, Loving the yellow cabinet you picked out, and the wood with the brick and tiles in that kitchen really pulls at me!! Thank you for sharing these great designs!
